Default Low Life Scumbags

Didn't realise people could stoop so low... but then again, not much surprises me these days.

Ms Pearly and I went out to dinner last night. Parked her LTD at Knox City shopping center. Went to have dinner with friends, and left shortly after.

On the way home, I hear a knocking sound comming from the front left. For a split second, I thought it was a rock stuck in the thread of the tyre, but it got worse quickly. Immediately, I knew what it was and pulled over.
I checked the nuts on the wheel and sure enough, they where loose. Not one, or two, or three, but all of them. Extremely loose.
Now I know for a fact that they where not loose before hand. I did a recent suspension job on the LTD with the help of Paul at CVE and we made sure all 4 wheels where secured right. I always do as I've had a previous experience with a loose nut before (thanks to Midas :jab: )

Now, I can only thank God that the wheel didn't come off while driving, or that it didn't happen to Ms Pearly while she was on her own as she most probably WOULD have dismissed it as a stone in the thread.

Mate i had the same thing happen about 12 yearsago in my EA, its a very scarey thing after you have tightened the nuts back up and you realise what could have happend.

Have you got lock nuts on the LTD mate?
Good to see they didnt get the wheel but.

What can I say after working at Knox most weekends for two and a half years? There is just a plethora of scum that gets around... I worry about my precious every time I have left it there. I've had a big cup of Coke thrown all over the bonnet in recent months, (countless shopping trolley dents) and even glass bottles left under my tyres. Glad to get away from it...

It's back to the old days with all these try-hard gangs etc and an out-of-control underage event happening on Friday nights. It's a hole and I'd suggest making the extra effort to go to other places where you can feel a little more comfortable. That's why I am not very fond of my girlfriend and her friend(s) going down on Friday/Saturday nights.

Yeah, Knox is just a total shithole now since the ozone development.

Can't park there any more, the few parking spaces there are really small, the access roads are narrow and cramped. What hope do dopey housewives in their 4WD's have of negotiating there without causing havoc? Dickheads everywhere.

I hope the powers that be that enabled this abortion of a development to be built are enjoying their kickbacks.

Knox is almost just around the corner from me but I refuse to go there anymore, I go to Eastland or the Glen these days.

Its funny that should happen Warren. One of my mates was telling me just today how he had the same thing happen to him on friday night! Luckily he stopped early enough to see what the problem was. It cant have been to steal the rims either as they're just the pursuit style steelies.

Deadset waste of air these people.

Wayne, unfortuneally kids aren't doing it to steel the wheels, they do it for laughs. They could easily kill someone. Imagine if Ms Pearly was driving??
If you were to find them doing it, you would wrap the wheel brace around their head and then you'd be charged!!
Simply there is not enough security at these car parks. Hence my LTD never goes to supermarkets/shopping centres etc.

Nothing worse then rushing through the shop, forgetting stuff just to get back to the car because you are worried sick.
Thats when the mother'n'laws car comes in handy

That sucks pearly, at least you found the damage before something bad happened. I refuse to park my car at big shopping centres any more. Its bad enough worrying about getting dints from other car doors which I couldnt care less about but the amount of cars that get properly vandalised and stolen these days is rediculous.

I always take the bike, my mums car or my girlfriends.

I'm not surprise to hear that I'm not the only one it's happened to.

Knox has gone down hill rapidly since the development of O-Zone. Shame because there are a couple of nice eat-out places there and it's looking like I won't be visiting them any more.

I'm glad both you and Mrs. Pearly are ok, unfortunately nothing surprises me anymore. Especially after all the attacks on my car and The Maddestmans.

My Mk I Escort doesn't go to shopping centres, it only goes where I can see it or where I know other people are going to be as respectful of it as I am towards their cars.

The EB will be the one that goes to shopping centres and other places. It copped the majority of knocks and other people paint at Northland anyway.

I don't trust anyone anymore, I walk around my car before I get in and drive it now, even when it's parked in my own driveway. Sad sign of the times. :

Glad your both OK mate.

with this stuff happening, we're gonna need 5 different lock nuts on each wheel! 1 wont cut it anymore when their main aim is to cause trobule by loosening the wheel, rather than steal the wheels!
