While I will acknowledge that you are one of the more reasonable members on here, there are plenty of others on here that would abuse it.

I understand the argument of, "But why wreck it for everyone?" but the admin team and mods do not have the time to monitor the thread(s), take action against anyone breaching the rules and then getting into a PM war with the person who came under notice arguing which T&C did they break.

After all of that, then deal with Franco.

Russ may have other ideas, and as he is the site owner, I will respect those ideas, but it would do my head in.

No he doesn't. We have areas of the forum where a reasonable amount of leniency is given for people to air their views but the interweb has plenty of right/left/centre forums full of nutjobs that would love you to join them.

At the core its a car forum, Id imagine there is a plethora of other forums out there for this.

World can be depressing enough with what is going on, most come here to get away from that crap.

The only problem is that politics seem to be a small portion of the car enthusiests interests, as a lot of politics have influenced the motor industry and steered where we are today, some good, some stupid and some that has hurt the motor industry to the core, then inturn affected the humble car enthusiest.

If the core of this forum like other forums was on topic like if this one was just cars, then a fair amount of its content would not be here, just have a browse of the topics, its a real mixed bucket of topics and some car stuff thrown in already.

We are given a fair bit of leniency around this,

The current system works pretty well I reckon, we can skirt around the outside edges of it when discussing politics in the context of its effect on the automotive industry and it stays mostly under control - its rare to get closed threads and holidays handed out.

Sorry couldn't help myself morning coffee kicking in but in all reason-ability (I don't know if that's a real word) who doesn't go abit insane when working on a car every once in awhile

I get that political discussions (both online and in the real world) regularly turn into shitfights, but with what the political class (and their backers) has done to the world of late and to the motoring enthusiast community for far longer, I can see the merit of some level of political chat.

Having said that, this is at the discretion of the forum owners/admins.
