Default Long range fuel tank

Has anyone fitted a long range tank to an AU sedan? If so, what size was it, where did you get it from and what did it cost (PM if you want).

I'm looking at around 120L fuel capacity.

Cheers and thanks for any help - Vincenzo

Daniel (CAT600) did a custom tank on his TS which was about 120 litres. Have a look through the later pages of his Terminator thread.

It might also be worth checking with the four by four places to get a custom tank Vincenzo.

If you go a tank like Daniels ... you could go quad exhausts ... although you have a 6 though.

Thanks for that and the next time someone starts a loser thread I will head it as the w****r (mass debater) who runs a quad exhaust with an I6.

Nice try though - cheers

I didn't mean it like that ... it's just some people have "issues" running quads on a 6 ... it'd look good on an AU though .... as it's rare to see ... cos the factory tank location doesn't allow for it.

Ahhhh I understand now. Yes I do remember seeing the rear end of Dan's AU and yes it did look nice. I will get a current picture of my rear end (the AU's that is) and show you what I would like.

Cheers Vincenzo

Well, I sent a PM off to Daniel (CAT600) asking about his long range tank. Unfortunately he said the complete boot floor was removed to put the new tank in and a new floor was fabricated. That is more work than I was prepared to do.

So, tomorrow will contact a few 4x4 places and see if they have any recommendations.

Cheers Vincenzo

Yep, i've got about 1300klms range in my AU, two tanks. Two different types of fuels too, switchable on the go.

My AU is fairly economical and at the same time extremely quick when pushed. I can get 450km around town without trying (60L) and on the highway 600km is easy, 700km a bit harder, 800 is doable but takes some concentration but I haven't quite got 900km yet.

Cheers Vincenzo

Never sarcastic, so, must have missed the point unless you were re-emphasing the fact that duel fuel gives you two tanks and therefore bigger range.
