Default anyone tried the new Smiths Chips flavor?

as per the title,
my wife brought a pack of chips home tonight to try
Smiths have released a new flavor, in a limited edition pack, Vegemite flavor.
these are only available from Coles and Bilo stores.
i was surprised by the taste, they are not bad at all.
i thought they'd be a too strong flavor but they have it spot on.
its worth a trip down to your local if you like a bit of vegemite every now and then.

cheers, craig

the wife bought 2x packs of them,
i keep wanting to open the other one now, but they wont last too long, lol
if i do, i will have to buy another pack to replace them, or even buy 2 packs and stash the other in the shed for me.

i reckon Smiths had a competition not long ago about what flavor would you like to see them make.
the winner got their flavor chips made.

I tried 3 flavours the other week.
'Sunday roast'
'Crispy Bacon'
'Meat pie and sauce'

They were all ok, but I think it was crispy bacon that tasted similar to BBQ

i have never really liked Promite.

compared to Vegemite , Promite has a few extras in it,
sugar, yeast glucose, thickener ,spices, onion, herb and veggy extracts plus a couple of other things .

i like the original aussie spread.

Promite was invented in the 1950's,
Vegemite was invented in 1922
when the war caused a shortage of Marmite supplies to new zealand and australia.

The chrispy Bacon ones are rank.
I struggled to get through the pack. I am a person whos idea of a bacon sandwich is a piece of bacon between two pieces of bacon and a piece of cheese!

Probably one of the best flavours getting around, and actually tasty like they are meant too, which is rare.

if only we could get Prawn Cocktail lays over here, heaven.

Whatever happened to the buttered popcorn flavour they had?

That was awesome.

But like anything good, they take them away from us once we're addicted :(

I ended up buying some last week purely because I'm on of those freaks that used to eat vegemite from a teaspoon (most kids it was peanut butter or nutella, never understood that).
Not gonna lie, to start with they were plain odd, but once I got stuck into 'em they really grew on me. Now the trick is to NOT spend my entire food budget on vegemite chips, despite the fact they cover the two most important food groups.
