Default Need an ICC reprogrammed in WA.

Hey fellow forumers.

I'm in the process of upgrading my BA wagon. I've got a high series BEM and a DZ ICC which I want to install.

I've been told by my local Ford dealer that to get the HIM, BEM and ICC recoded/ working it would cost $264 (which is fairly pricey).

I was hoping someone could come to my aid here and give me some contact numbers/ details of companies or individuals that can do the recoding for me, I'm located in Bunbury but will travel to Perth if the price is right.

Thanks in advance.

Well I'm again needing some help. McInerney Ford in perth doesn't program ICC, BEMs and HIMs anymore. I'm starting to wonder if my DZ upgrade will be worth it.

Any leads which I can chase up will be much appretiated.

Hi mate,

I just had my parameters reset between the keys/ECU/BEM etc on my AU. I'm guessing it's something similar, but most sparkies should be able to help with it. Cost me about 185 at Autospark Canning Vale. I was desperate but and didn't shop around. Prob got ripped!

Cheers,

Ian

Thanks Ian.

I've found a sparky who can reprogram the ICC, and get the BEM recognized by the PCM. But because I'm upgrading from a manual single zone ICC to an automatic Dual zone ICC I need my HIM reprogrammed and apparently only Ford can do this.

Cheers Graham

Bit of a thread mine, but I don't mind.

Yeh, I shopped around a bit.... but not many people knew what to do, eventually I had my local Ford dealer reprogram it for me (they knew what needed to be reprogrammed and how to do it), only problem was it cost me $264, and they had to do it twice (first time they ****** it it). They reused my old BEM, instead of using the new BEM I provided them.... which meant the analogue clock and auto headlights wouldn't work and so I had to take it back to them so they could do it again properly.

I did the Dual Zone conversion back in July last year and I haven't had any problems. Here a quick comparison

Depends where your located. I'm from Bunbury. The only two people who could recode the ICC were, Ford and one of the local auto electricians. If your from Perth I imagine there would be a few extra options available for you.

Best of luck with it, hope it all works out.

Seriously?

You are doing a major change to your vehicle that if you stuff it up could cause you huge amounts of grief and you are not prepared to spend $264 getting it done professionally by a Ford dealer where the job will be warranted and they have access to anything that may be needed during the work.

AND you are prepared to travel 400km to Perth to get it done cheaper which even if it were free would cost you more that $264 in travel costs not including your time and should there be a problem later cost you the same again to get it sorted.

Are you nuts..........

I don't think so!!!

I approached 5 Ford Dealers and only 2 were willing to take on the job, the others said: that's not possible, OR we haven't done anything like this before and we don't know what we're doing.

GhiaEB (Ben) who i bought several parts off and he helped me install my Dual Zone, had his Territory programmed by Challenge Ford in Rocky, I confirmed and they could do mine for $120 plus $50 of fuel I'd burn getting from Bunbury to Perth and back, I'd still be coming out considerably in front.

In the end though it got the point where I just had to get it done and was happy to pay a little extra. It's all detailed in my build thread, but I actually had it all coded and programmed by my local dealer, before I pulled my dash out, so if something wasn't working, it's not like I had to change everything back.

Plus I found, I'm quiet good at pulling dashboards out, I had to do it a second time to replace the Futura brown with XR black and all the other associated trimmings.

Biggest thing is planning, and getting it all sorted before commencing the job.

Sorry if that came across direct, hopefully I justified myself better than my previous posts. Also the work was
completed in July last year and its still working like a charm.

You really do get in a flap about things. Is that why you are known as flappist?
