Default Winford Motors Closing

Another sad day...

My family has bought a few cars from Winford Motors, they've always been great to deal with.
Recently got named Number 1 Ford Service Department in Australia and I can vouch for their great service.
Pretty sad to see them closing up after 47 years.

The number of Ford dealers that have closed in the Sydney metro area just amazes me.

Awful news, I only bought one new car there, but many many spares over the years.

They were mostly good to deal with only having a few nuffy sales dudes in the car yard section at times.
The spare parts section was fantastic with Don being part of the furniture for over 30 years I believe.

I know it's inevitable with what's going on, but still feel very bad about this.
I feel like I've lost my right arm...

Damn that's my local dealer gone.
I guess Hyundai opening down the road from them didn't help much, in a small market area.
They also have Holden and Toyota not far away. I think that Holden yard has struggled over the years also with owners ect.

I'd almost forgot about that new Hyundai dealership, lol
Although I don't think it's been there long enough to effect Winford's sales.

Your right about Hawkesbury Holden though, I can't say I know anyone who's had pleasant dealings with them in any form. But things may gave changed since corporate took the dealership away from the former owners.

It is a hard area to run a car yard though, the various used dealerships have always struggled. Even Aus Fleet sales has closed and reopened more times than I can keep track of...

Well WINFORD are now officially closed, but I have to say, it's a pretty dumb move closing down all operations in the area. They expect customers to go to Penrith to get their cars serviced. I know I won't be driving 40mins and losing a whole day to get my car serviced. I was really happy with the servicing they did there, it's a real pity the just gave up on the local area, not even remaining and relocating locally with a smaller workshop.

Some muppet would have gone to whereis and said its onlya short drive to Penrith or Castle Hill, I would have taken a car to Winford service but I wouldn't take a skate board to Power Ford.

Winfords been struggling for a while and they very nearly hit the wall 2 or 3 years back. Its sad but I'm not surprised

Unhappy Re: Winford Motors Closing

I'm really ****ed off, as I bought my Ranger from them, still under warranty, plus I went the extra warranty way. So not even a letter or any notification from Winford saying that they were closing.
Only found out when I went there for a drive to see about booking the Ranger for a service.I was very happy with all aspects, but I don't want to travel to Penrith/Kingswood.
I know that the warranty alows me to go to any dealer
Has anybody used Cumberland Ford ?

No wonder why. I went there 21/2 years a go to look at a FG XR6T and when I asked for a test drive I was asked if im going to buy today, when I said that I wanted to test drive a few first I was told that unless I leave a deposit I cannot test drive it. Went to Sinclair and bought a G6ET 2 days later, they let me test drive it and another 2 XR6Ts there to get an idea of how they performed.

I spoke to a guy who worked at Winford for a very long time the other day.
He said it was Fords decision to close the dealership, and the owners of Winford fought for 3 months trying to keep it alive.

Go figure...

That makes no sense at all that Ford would close up what seems one of their better dealerships but after 43yrs of following Ford both on and off the track I have given completely trying to understand how they make their decisions. I think Chad Morgan describes it best with his song " it's all so nice in the nuthouse". God I miss the days when you could be politically incorrect without all the do gooders jumping down your throat.
