Default BP ULTIMATE.... NO SUPPLY in SYD

Just a quick post while im at work....

My local BP had NO petrol last night. Rozelle BP on Victoria Rd had no Ultimate, and Darling St had minimal supply. No supply coming till December 20th.

www.bp.com.au/sms to sign up for an SMS when the supply arrives. Apparently same goes with Synergy8000....

No supply in Vic either. It's very annoying as BP is my closest servo and the next closest shell. Optimax is crap and detonates.

ACT the same, went in on Sunday and they told me there could be a two week wait.

I've tried the new 100ron optimax from shell, not too bad.

cheers, JAK.

I drove Melb-Syd on Sat and had trouble finding any 98.
When I got to Sydney my local BP said there is no Ultimate in Aus but there is a tanker coming from Holland. Not sure if he is talking crap or not, but it is definately hard to find. Eventually found some Optimax.

These fuel companies are obviuosly ripping us off with prices and dont give a flying firetruck about their customers ! Why the hell cant they see problems coming with supply of the fuels we use ! They seem to be able to predict any onther situation well before time and jack the fuel prices in response ! We realy need to do something to hit these mongrel bastards where it hurts just to let them know we have had enough of their shyte !

I would, if I had access to it. My closest extreme retailers 30-35k's away.

I have used 2 tanks full, it seems ok the engine seemed happier at the lower revs, A friend has also used it on his turbo ute, he was able to get to 16psi with no pinging, usually can only get bout 12 on BP ultimate so far it looks good

I was told the same thing! I found BP ultimate after a long search though. I had been using Extreme lately, but i didnt have time for the 10km drive and the light was on.... so i thought id try Ultimate like i did previously. Oh well....

Strange though that Darlinghurst Shell didnt have Extreme.... dont tell me everyone is running low?!?!??!

John,

you have hit the nail on the head. We had BP's head chemist from the Kwinana refirnery give a talk at the October FPV club meeting and he said all the BP ultimate for Australia came from Kwinana. I think the boys over east are just now having the fuel shortage that WA had a few weeks ago.

In WA we do not have any 98RON alternative so as soon as supply started dropping it hit us first, whilst there was still enough over east in storage, combined with other alternatives (Vortex, Optimax etc.) has led to a delay for them.

Its my understanding that BP has been slowly ramping up production again and because we are local it can be found in Perth readily now, I am sure the boys over east will be getting some soon, just a week or so away.

Peter
