Considering the G6 has never been available from Ford in Nitro, I'd say it's been colour corrected - ie: photoshopped.

Speaking of which is this a temp banner? I mean its ok but they are not exactly flattering shots. The MMS Black GT was good, but the concept Mad Max car was an odd inclusion aswell.
Not really important but hey, where would forums be without opinions

The current banner looks good. Cars that all members here will recognise. The previous banner had a car in it that I didn't know wtf it was.

I think that it is important to recognise that AFF is a gathering place for ALL Fords, and not "just" the best of the best T series / GT or whatever that is currently available.
As pointed out elsewhere, what one person finds attractive others find an abomination. Regarding the FG on the rhs of the banner, the colour has been changed (iirc the original was a silver G6 ecoLPi?) Heaven forbid - a bbq fuel powered taxi gracing the front page. |

Maybe squeeze in a Mondeo or Focus (both popular in this forum).
Have Aussie Falcons on one side and World Fords on the other. Naked ladies are also popular but then you would need to add naked men for balance so it's best to stick to cars.

While were on the banner ideas, why not have some eye catching members cars? Not just Falcons but a variety, that can change every month or two and the cars are just picked by whatever catches your eye wulos or maybe a vote thread?
Might be a nice 'personal' touch and something a little different.

Ahhh...The great banner debate. It seems to rear it's head just about everytime the banner gets changed.
I personally think wulos does a great job in keeping them fresh, new and Ford centric. It is great they are updated on a regular basis. If people don't particularly like the model on a banner, I just wait a few months until it is updated...

I have always had this idea but never submitted it..maybe a friendly competition once a month(or quarter?) where people submit pictures of their ride and people vote for their favourite two, and at the end of the month or quarter or whatever wulos can Photoshop the forum users who won's rides into the banner? That would mix things up a bit.

I just visted that sites homepage and refreshed a couple of times...Must admit, I like the way the banner changes.
Not too sure how this forums banner works... but cool idea just the same! Russ, is something like this feasible with the current version of software? Cheers Col

Personally I am a bit against having a banner reload each and every time the website loads
Having a good solid brand identity is obviously quite important, and having a continual fast rotation is not quite as an effective tool as measured / precise "determined" changes. Acknowledging members rides is one area that we have considered, however if we can't even be happy with the banners as they are shown atm, then achieving satisfaction when choosing one members car, over another is even less likely to result in "group happiness". |

I completely understand your point wulos, and as the saying goes, it is hard to please all of the people all of the time.
However having visted the site that was mentioned, it doesn't appear to be a flash banner (continually changing) it only appears to change on a refresh or page change and one side of their banner has their branding on it. Just a suggestion that could be perhaps discussed in the future. As I have said though, love your banners. Keep up the great work Cheers Col

The observant will notice that the banner is now randomly generated at page loads - during the testing we have just used some of the older ones that have been used in the past but wulos is working on some new ones to add to the rotation. There are currently 6 or so but the plan is to eventually have something around 20. These will (of course) be bypassed for the special banners that we run from time to time.
I noted while looking through the banners we have used that we had one for the 3 millionth post in January 2010 but we have since quietly passed the 4 million mark on the 24th November, 2011. Congratulations to KS290 for making the 4 millionth post - an AFF prize pack will be on it's way to you. Cheers Russ
