Hi Guys,
Need to try and figure out a real world number of what my Focii is worth. We have been given a novated lease, and i get to drive that vehicle, so unfortunately, its time to move it on. Its an '02 build,LR Zetec, manual with 68000km, had the usual bumps and scratches around the bumper, but that cant be helped.. Redbook says about $10k, but when arranging the lease they offered me a low crazy number, as i am certain they just didn't want the car. Im going to have a shot at private sale, if i cant find a 'cash for cars' type of scenario that will get a bit closer to $10k. Thanks for your assistance. Marty |

You would think that something in the 9000s would be achievable privately - under the psychological 10K barrier, but with the discounting on new cars at the moment, something in the 8000s will probably make it easier to offload.

Yeh if you really want to get the money for the car then go private sale most car yards will underpay you so they can mark up the price to make 30-40% on top of what they bought it from you. If you just want the car gone and dont care about the money then just accept their offer or try to bargain them up to meet in the middle.

I suppose a car is only worth, what someone is willing to pay for it..... so i just have to try the market. ... going to ask around at work first (700+ people at work), so i might get a nibble there.... Oh well, can only see as long as i end up getting some more than i was offered trade in, thats all i care about!!!

hey martyvan - is that you I saw over on Pajeroclub forums? Nice pickup!
I'm looking at upgrading from the Focus to a Pajero at the end of my lease Jan next year. I'll look at leasing a used NS Pajero thru the auctions or a broker. With luck, it shouldn't cost me much more than I've been paying for the Focus.

yes, was me at pajero forum.... (went great in great sandy national park this week!! only had 1900km on the clock too!!!) and i sold the focii zetec for $9k in the end, which, while less than i was originally hoping for, was a smooth sale and was sold to a bloke for his daughter to learn to drive, and be her first car. Which, i must say, is a nice car for to learn in (safe and great handling!)
Cheers for all the questions i have had answered over the years, i guess im back to lurker now, that i no longer own a ford... for the time being. |
