Haha what a joke. I can imagine the designers looking at brochures trying to decide who to copy next.

no offence but the latest crop of f150s I have seen would probably be the same quality as that
and to me it looks more like a gmc sierra or something |

hang on a sec...Apart from the headlights and grille on the Chev, what elsel is the same? Front bar is completely different, so are the front guards, door, and tub.
Bit like saying the the Falcon has BMW door handles...Why did they copy the BMW?

Could be worse.
Have the option of a big V8 and it will be much better. All these Chinese cars have very small and underpowered engines. I guess Chinese drivers don't like big engines? |

Not to mention they're trying to keep pollution down, and don't need huge engines spewing out even more exhaust gases...if a car can make do and give acceptable performance with a smaller engine, that's what it gets. Not a bad philosophy I suppose when you think of it. |

I could only imagine just how bad that thing would be to drive.
I once drove a heap of &^%$ camira which was missing two high tension leads, towing a trailer of sand, uphill which would have given more motoring pleasure than that chinese excuse for a pick-up truck. |

Ford will try to sue, but Chinese courts will make a verdict against them, because Chinese companies get favouritism.
BMW and others tried to sue for copyright infringements and lost, but took them to an international court to stop the cars being sold in the EU, its the best they could do. Chinese courts will never rule against a Chinese company being sued by an international one, especially if they are American. Ford will go after them as much as they can though, the F series is their icon, and most important model. |

As has been demonstrated in the Chinese courts, when pushed my manufacturers like Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Honda.. copyright and intellectual property exist all around the world....except China.
A royal two-fingered salute to all those who dare to challenge their right to blatantly copy anything and everything. Chevolet went to court in China to protest about the rip-off of the design of their small car, the Chevy Volt. To prove their point, they disassembled one ot the Chinese copys and one of their own, mixed up all the parts and managed to build two Frankenstein vehicles, both operational and functioning. If thats not pure copying of design, what else could it be? Coincidence? They lost in court, in China.. |

People have to realise that it's almost a tradition with Japanese factories to make two versions of stuff when they win a foreign contract to make something.
Out the front door goes the stuff in the branded box, and out the side door goes the exact same thing in a no-name discount box. When we had our 100 series Landcruiser we wanted to get a snorkel for it, and balked at $600-plus for one they wanted at the time. Some one put me onto a Chinese mob based in Kong Kong who sold all sorts of four wheel drive accessories, and they listed a snorkel to suit a 100 series for $170, with about $30 postage. They offered me "any quantity from a single item to a container full" when I emailed them for details, and that prices would drop the more I ordered. Someone on a fourbie forum spotted that the part number for the heap one was identical to the part number on the expensive one sold here by a big name company...someone was making a healthy profit... Now I notice that snorkels are down to about $290...obviously someone had the same idea I did and brought in a few container loads of them...after all, it's not high tech...it's a moulded plastic pipe and few fittings. When it comes to cars, really, it isn't rocket science, and I'm old enough to remember some people laughed at Japanese cars even into the seventies. One Chinese company makes a very good copy of the H1 Hummer...I think the only difference is a smaller turbo diesel and the grill slots go across instad of up and down, but otherwise it's pretty much the same thing. |

Making a snorkel is light years away from cloning an entire car. Its easy to copy something, but very difficult and costly to design and execute something as complex as an entire vehicle. If ths kind of behaviour was accepted here in the (enlightened) Western world no one would ever bother to create anything, as someone would quickly make a cheap (no development/design/approval etc etc costs) knock off. The profit the manufacturer makes from his design allows him to further his other projects and ideas. Without this, progress stops and soon becomes meaningless, read: No incentive.
Remember, this behaviour is encouraged by the Chinese government and in the end does nobody any favours. Cheap is cheap, but eventually comes at a very high price! |

Not only cars, remember the fake Apple stores that popped up? From decor to employee uniforms, and more.

Awesome, if Ford won't bring the F150 over here, I'd settle for one of these.

Ummm... I'm going out on a limb here but I like it. I would seriously consider buying one and slapping a Ford badge on it. Closest thing we could get to an F-150 without paying $100k+ for RHD etc. Be cool if some dealers added JAC to their portfolio, and then sneakily sell the 'F150 alongside Ranger. Tee hee.
PS I detest Chinese cars overall, this just fascinates me. And haters can eat my brown stuff. |

If they import....cheaper to put on the Ford bits you want plus have a decent output motor swapped in......sounds like a good proposition on paper.
Hmm the mind boggles....i love my F trucks but not their insane prices. 81kw haha, thats what my 2t Courier is putting out and its slow as heck, how much does one of those trucks weigh?...
