Default MD Ecoboost - cooling fan not turning off

Has anyone with an Ecoboost Mondeo experienced the cooling fan failing to turn off after turning off the car? This just happened to me today, engine cooling fan kept running for 10-15 minutes after turning off the car, and didn't turn itself off. Restarted the car several times during the day, yet the issue still recurs whenever I turn off the car. It's not a particularly hot day either, and engine temps showed normal on the gauge.

Ultimately, I decided to disconnect the battery to stop it from draining the battery.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Check the radiator shutters are opening properly. If they're staying shut the fans will run for a long time trying to cool the radiator.

Otherwise it could be a failed thermostatic switch.

Very interesting issue ,needs further electrical investigation to determine were/why the fan module is still receiving power after shutdown....what is your engine temp? will it do it even if the engine hasn't reached operating temp? Is the A/C on when it does it? Also rather than disconnecting battery an easier option is to pull the fan relay(also not a bad point to start your electrical checking)
