Default Tarmac Magazine Final Issue..

Arrived home today and found the latest issue of Tarmac magazine jammed in the letterbox...
Sweet, I thought to myself as I headed inside for a beer and an always interesting and unbiased read about all things pertaining to motorsport in Australia. especially tarmac based. Then...
I read the insert with a letter of explanation that this was to be their last issue. It seems its hard to keep an independent magazine of this ilk afloat, despite all the enthusiasm in the world.
Dean Evans' baby had always been a compelling read, telling things like it was and making some superb and insightful articles and comparisons along the way.
I, for one, will be sad for its passing but Im sure a journo of Evans' calibre will have no problem slotting back into, dare I say it, a more mainstream role. All the best to him and his team.

How long did it last for about 2 years?
I always liked that magazine but haven't bought it lately unfortunately.
I'm disappointed I wont get to buy it in the future.

Went for 5yrs in total last April with lots of different and unusual comparos.
Made a nice change from mainstream opinion and was truly a breath of fresh air.
I'd reckon you need to sell HEAPS of magazines just to keep afloat, which a quarterly publication would struggle to do.
Will miss it lots..

Yep, unfortunately the printed word is fast becoming a thing of the past...
