Default Career coaching

Has anyone here used a career coach? Im keen to hear experiences good or bad or even just some general office career advice from some of the wiser members.

Been in my career for 13 years possibly looking to do something else due to new interstate management with misguided ideas.

A career coach will help if your unsure of the which path/strategy to take.
There is a diploma of coaching available, so if it were me Id be looking for a diploma qualified coach that specialises in career/corporate coaching.
Id also be looking for someone a little older that has some real world management experience to back up there coaching advise.

You can also buy the Anthony Robbins CD to listen to,
cos he is coaching you at the same time of what you would pay someone money to do it.

I have many years experience as a counsellor and spent most of that time as a careers counsellor so I am happy to help if needed. We don't have the answers but can help you develop the right tools to help find them.

how different is that to one of these motivational speakers?

you know the ones. they make you fork out a few hundred so you can listen to him rave on for a few hours about crap and tell you how fantastic you are.

A good coach will ask the right type of leading questions to help you find the answers your looking for. Motivational speakers have there place but generally that type of hype doesn't stay with you more then a few hours after the event.
