Default Is it worth complaining to Bridgestone?

Bridgestone being a franchise I just wonder if there's any point trying to complain 'up the chain' if you're not satisfied with the performance of one of their franchisees?

nothing ventured nothing gained.
Going straight to HQ sure would get a reaction IF the Franchisee has not served a customer properly.

IF. I get it. Perhaps I'm making a fuss over nothing. Wouldn't want to do that. Let's see what you reckon, off the cuff:
Bridgestone overtightens wheel nuts. I lost three studs.
They come look at it at my home.
Accept responsibility. Say to get it round there and they'll fix it.
I do that at my expense (i.e. my fortunate RAA membership, but same thing...)
One whole day later I get a text that it is booked in for 2:30 that day.
One whole day later I query and get told it's too big a job and they won't be able to get to it until next week.
That's all.
I find it a bit slack. Do you?

Other than get a mobile mechanic to your home, it was going to cost you for transport to any mechanical business, I guess it depends on what reason they stated for the delay, was it out of their control due to parts availability, poor planning etc.

I’d be in there quick as a flash telling them to sort it out immediately or I’d be asking for a hire car.

I don’t deal with incompetence well when it comes to these things though.

I’d also speak to head office 100%, bet it gets sorted quicker if you do.

point there is that it could have/should have cost them. i think in usual contractual obligations this kind of default makes you responsible for all loss arising from your default. Now I lose my car for more than a week with all the losses attendant on that. and having to transport from site to mechanic is directly due to their fault. see?

And the bit that personally rankles is they do not contact me, tell me. After one day 'booked in 2:30 today' and then it take me ringing them to discover they've no plans for doing anything for a week!

That's pretty shitful, but the reason they get away with it is no one complains or holds them responsible, they'd better have organized you a rental car or covered ubers at their cost

Complain to head office and 1 star reviews on their Facebook business listing for both the head office and the franchise and same with their Google business listing, then get your friends to give it the thumbs up so it ranks up top of the reviews.

Well now 'Mike' says he'll ring me tomorrow and tell me what the score is.
I sent them the link to the video showing getting the stud out through the abs sensor hole. but that vid is not a BA.
Mike says it doesn't work. He says you do that and there's something else stopping it. I wonder if there's any experienced BA men can say anything about that?
Says they have no loaner car so can't do that.
I, of course, expect that tomorrow I'll be told 'Friday' - and then on Friday told next week.
First thing Mike said was they were waiting for parts.
Then next thing is he segues into it's a 'hard job' which brought up the video thing.
So it all sounds a bit suss.
Bit of a puzzle.
What's the moral? Check your wheelnuts after every tyre job I guess...

for the $130 that the whole hub bearing and studs assembly costs id be demanding that, id also want the wheel ispected as the alloy is softer than steel

demand from head office a proper result, and keep them updated about the franchise screwing you

then once its all done leave a negative google review. but don't get dramatic in the review. too many go on about their family's lives or think of the kids

I loosen the wheel studs on the ED after people have done them up and found them pretty tight
The last time I sheared a 3/8 drive clean off trying to loosen

Ive got a 1/2 Inch drive setup and long breaker bar now to loosen after services

If they broke my studs I would have to put it down to a 30 year old car

Get onto HQ pronto
Explain it and say that’s not good enough.
Your getting a rental car on their expense and cover to get the job done correctly by a mechanic who knows what their doing again at their cost.

Here is my take on it, complaining to head office will most likely not get you anywhere, they will throw you back to the Franchise owner who is responsible, as to know how the franchisee will respond to your requests " who knows", they may come to the table they may not.
You will most likely end up with complaining to local consumer affairs with an outcome that will be anyone's guess, I've been in a similar situation with no satisfactory solution unless you willing to engage a solicitor, which could be more costly in getting your reimbursement cost from the company.
Put your complaint in, you may get a satisfactory outcome, then you may not.

Hi. You should have sent them the link that I put up showing the tone wheel behind the studs. The only way to change the studs is to remove the axle, then the bearing/seal/shrink ring (which destroys them in the process) then the tone wheel and then the studs. The easy fix is another axle from a wreckers and hope that the bearing is OK. Cheers MD

I think they know that. They're insisting it's a big job. That's the hassle they were telling me about when they first broke the news to me.

I was hoping the 'push through the abs hole' would work but apparently not. That's been my latest query in the thread.

Ofcourse they are going to throw the consumer back to the franchisee - they are responsible but no HQ likes a franchisee staining their brand and they would contact the franchisee in the first place reporting they got a complaint.
I have worked in a franchise company long ago and do business with franchise HQ’s to this day.
No company wants their brand brought down by a company that has signed a doc representing their brand.
Sure the franchisee will be ****ed but he/she are responsible in the first place serving customers.

your from the murraylands so its possible you play footy with some of the team/staff. Id suspect they are trying to palm you off as 'mates' but stick with it. If a wheel ccame loose while driving would they attend your funeral?
