I have a 2011 Focus Ambiente and my battery died in the weekend and the automatic shift would not move from the Park position. I need to at least put it into neutral so that I can push the car away from the driveway blocking a couple of cars. Yes I did depress the brake fully while trying to move the shifter and trying all key positions but the shifter would not move. I checked that my brakes lights are operational. I searched for an override button around the shift know but could not find any. I googled focus shift override and someone (for a U.S. model ) suggested looking for a cover on the side of the shift console that can be removed by unscrewing the cover but there are no such cover on the LW Focus. In the end, I have to wait for road ride assistance to jump start my car and everything was fine. I am just worried that if I got stuck in the middle of road, how do I move the car to the side if my battery suddenly dies ?
