Default New chip tuning for WS Fiesta coming soon!

Hi eveyone, big news and a great development for the WS Fiesta!!! I have recently partnered with a local tuning company and have developed a tune for the WS Fiesta Zetec 1.6. My Fiesta is the test and evaluation vehicle for the tune and hopefully will be available to the public in the next few weeks. So anyone who is interested, please PM me as I will be one of the distributors for the product when its completed. Also in the process of sourcing other parts and hopefully may be able to offer a tuning package similar to that of Mountune. Fingers crossed.

Regards,

Dave

Hi guys, the tune has been done and so far is making a nice noticeable difference. However as the vehicle has not been dynoed as yet due to time constraints on the day of tuning, these figures will be posted the moment final evaluation has been done. Hoping to find out these figures in the next 2 weeks. Your patience is much appreciated and all will be revealed in due course :eclipsee_

Any chance of a tune for the WQ?

It would really depend on the type of ECU you have in your vehicle as that may determine whether your car is tuneable or not. As I am no ECU programming expert, it may be best to look up local tuners in Hobart and see if your car can be tuned.

Zetec Dave, firstly, great work on organising this. Did the tuners do a dyno run while the car had the stock tune? It would be great to see the before and after, to not only see how much improvement was gained, but also where in the rev range these improvements were made.

Thanks mate. I'll try and get both before and after numbers done as it couldn't be done on the day of tuning due to time constraints. However, I did specify to aim for more low end grunt as it seems thats what our Fiesta really needs to get it going. So far since the tune, there definately is a noticeable increase in low end grunt. But because the Fiesta is only a 1.6 NA engine, we are never going to be able to expect anything explosive unless I can find a tuning partner to develop a supercharger or turbocharger kit for it LOL. Hoping to get this new tune available ASAP.

Sounds good, does this tune work on 95? Or just 98?

Tune is based on 98RON so best to stick with it. 95 shouldn't hurt it though but power wise may not be optimal. May consider offering 95RON tune if there is demand though but may not be feasible in terms of power vs price for the customer. I'll have to check with the tuner to give a more accurate response. I'll try and get an answer by tomorrow.

Oh ok, thanks, because my local petrol stations only sell a max of 95. Thanks for going through the effort

Awesome news... solves my problems with Ford Australia being unable/unwilling to fit the Mountune upgrades... what are the chances of finding a partner to develop a forced induction system? A supercharged system would be lovely.

Okay guys time for an update. those who have access to only 95RON shouldn't be a problem as the 98RON tune will work fine without much difference if power drop. Pricing is most likely going to be $1290 and the tune will hopefully be available within the next 3-4 weeks. The dyno evaluation should happen in the next 2 weeks so power figures will be posted as soon as that is done. Those with an auto 1.4L and are located in Melbourne who would like to get their car looked at can contact myself via PM and I can arrange something for you so that we can get the tune for that done (no promises for the 1.4 though as it needs to be seen first to determine if its tuneable at this stage). Once the tune is available on the market, it can be purchased through myself.

We're getting there so not too much longer now.

Cheers.

Dave

Thanks Dave! I'm sure the 1.4 is tuneable as there is no VVT , but maybe won't as much gain as the 1.6

Sounds good Dave. First thing i'm doing to the fez when the budget says I can is lowering it with your springs and shocks (when they arrive... grr lol), but after that I would be glad to help out with the tuning side.

With the tune, if you take your car to Ford for them to service it and they update the ECU, wouldn't that remove your tune?

I did enquire about that possibility and yes it may but the first retune is free.

Oh ok, I thought it would work like those capa flash boxes you see for the Falcons, you get this little box you can hook up, which flashes the ECU with the tune again. Then if they updated the ECU, you can just plug in the box again and away you go.

Hi guys, apologies for the delay, had to go overseas for some family emergency. Only just got back early in the week but still have things to deal with. Extremely depressing with lots of things to organise when a family member's health deteriorates suddenly and leaves us unexpectedly without saying bye. Hopefully will get the evaluation completed as soon as I'm clear of my family duties. The car needs to be booked in for a dyno etc. Apologies to everyone who have been patiently waiting. Will keep you guys updated.

Thanks. Was hoping that some car shopping would cheer me up but so far not good news (well for Ford/FPV anyway). Otherwise, the Fiesta is coming along nicely.

Is this like a flash box where we can flash it back to standard whenever we like? Also can we just buy the tuner and have our own custom tunes made with our local dyno tuners?
