Camber isn't too bad i still need to get the wheels aligned and i'll get them to fix the camber then.

As for the handling it doesn't have bodyroll anymore it just goes where the wheels are pointing without trying to fight it too much, although driveways are a new enemy...

Looks very good mate, and it got me thinking…. a black XR5 (hurry up June!) at that height would look pretty damn special. However, I'm wondering if that magnificent LS Focus ride quality is now a thing of the past, especially with that miniscule amount of rubber between you and the road?

When you have had a chance to take it on a bit of a country run (or at least the freeway), can you let us know how it rides? Given that you have lost most of your suspension travel, I expect it will be pretty damn awful, but I’d more than happy for you to prove me wrong.

It looks absolutely great, but I'm also interested in how the ride height has impacted the handling. Although there is some minor bodyroll in our LS Zetec, handling thru the twists when pushed hard is just gob smacking. I gather these cars are engineered in a way which keeps the ride softer under normal driving and firmer as the speed increases.

P.S. Sorry but I'll have to disagree with Parasite about the headlights. Being that low I think it will look even tougher with the blacked out Zetec lights, but hey I'm biased..lol

That's the control blade IRS. Whilst traditionally comfort and handling were a trade off (eg more comfort, less handling..............great handling, hard ride) the control blade supension seperates the two components, allowing Ford to tune the handling characteristics of the suspension without compromising ride comfort. I was shown how it works once and was breathtakingly simple......but I just can't quite remember the details

Ok having driven it for only a day or so (i sitll need the wheels alignment) i have noticed a slight drop in ride quality (not quite as bad as going from the 17's to the 20's mind you) but the handling more than makes up for it, being able to overtake any commodore in the outside lane when they're at their absolute breaking point and i'm able to cruse past at 20 - 30k's quicker than them more than makes up for it.

As for scrubbing i've been over some pretty bad bumps on corners and gone up and down all kinds of driveways but i haven't felt anything yet, the main thing i have to watch out for is the front bar.

I haven't received the darker headlights yet but should fairly soon but i think i may already have a buyer (you know who you are) and the tyres are Nankang ultrasport NS-II's (225/30-R20) and they're decent enough in the dry but kinda dodgy in the wet, but at $310 each for the cheapest tyres i can buy i'm not left with much choice at the moment.

Anyway hopefully i wont be so freakin busy that i'll be able to get the alignment done today the the little bit of camber fixed up to. When we were putting the rear springs in we noticed there are adjustments there for the camber so it shouldn't be too difficult to get fixed up a little, Hopefully I'll be able to make it up to the cruise on sunday so you guys can get a look for yourselves anyway

Has it really improved handling though - larger wheels increase your rolling inertia and unsprung mass. I personally think 19" wheels on a Focus sized car are only for looks, if that's your cup of tea.

They really are mainly for looks same with the lowering but they have also made the handling better as an added bonus, oh... and they're 20's not 19's lol

what kind of exhaust tip do you have?

Im thinking a horn twin tip like some remus systems ive seen would look awesome aswell.

I dont usually use this term but its a phat ride..who cares what it goes like.

Hey I'm actually getting the whole exhaust system done on thursday 2 1/2 all the way through with a middle muffler and a dual "kick up" tip muffler at the back, i'm getting the 2 1/2 inch because i plan to do a little more engine work later that will benifit from it

mate can i say those rims are the blingyest slappets i have ever seen on a focus, damn good job mate, makes me want to sell my older focus and buy a new hatch to do up
