Default Mazda CX8 - SUV or People mover?

I heard talk of this new Mazda being promoted as a slightly smaller CX9 with diesel, some say its a stretched CX5.

But to me it looks like its a bit lower too, so when does an SUV become a People mover?

When Indian families buy them. Then, when 15-20 years old, when Islander families buy them.

Pub discusses everything. besides this isn't a Mazda specific question & Ford have nothing in this segment.

I don't think the average consumer sees it the way brought up.
To them its just going A to B and what tickles their fancy and budget.
I think the point what Mazda is doing is just as the Toy company, range range range, choice choice choice.
For eg.....A consumer walks in showroom and I'm sure every Sales guy would hear this.
CX9 is too large and CX5 is too small.
Toy company would hear, is there something on offer a little smaller Klugerish but not the Rav4 ?
etcetcetc......
Smart move imo Mazda and quality everyday product.

Mazda seem to be doing quite well In Australia, they also have overseas models they don't even bother bringing here.
Currently Ford only offer the Everest as a 7 seat vehicle. even the long coming Endura wont have 7 seats.

Mazda haven't bothered with a proper 4WD except for the BT50

IMO the 7 seater just needs to look like a 4WD cos dad doesn't want to be seen dead in a People mover
