Yeah, I'd heard about the turbo 1.6 for the new somewhat larger Fiesta ST but not for the other cars. Seems unlikely they'll replace all the 2.0 duratec HE's though, esp in the mondeo, stilll we'll see. Pity, that looks like the older alloy block Sigma engine. Back to cam belts again dammit. One of the great things about the 2.0 duratec HE was the chain drive for the cams.

More speculation about that here....
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...rd_fiesta.html The pics look good but it really looks like they just grabbed the new Mazda 2 and added Mondeo front end styling!.... better than this rather horrifying version shown on a German site.... http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/1649/fiesta15yv.jpg |

Ford have invested alot of money in the 1.6L unit. First the Ti-VCT unit replacing 1.8L and now the turbo replacing 2.0L and 2.3L.
Lplus whats wrong with cam belts? Nothing |

Come on Ford!! Get with the program! I wont be buying an XR4 or XR5 by the look of those pics......

I'd still rather have more N/A cubes than turbo power, though a 1.7 with turbo might just make the grade....? Quote:
