Was just going thru Ebay looking for parts when i came across this...... it states 1 million XD Anniversary........ Item number 150686102277. Is it for real or has some-one just stuck a badge onto the Glovebox ????

My guess would be that it was the millionth car... unsure... could be a fake, would've thought they'd made more than a million by then... but, maybe.

The 1 millionth Falcon was made during the XD era. I think it was 1980. I'm fairly sure it's in Ewan Kennedy's book.

It is not THE millionth Falcon, just one of the commemorative Falcons built to celebrate this.

From my understanding through reading numerous posts on this, they gave all the cars from the month that they made the millionth Falcon a badge to commemorate the milestone.

Interesting car!
As for being a bit "povo pack", well, you have to remember, in the late seventies and into the eighties it was unusual to have air conditioning, power steering, power windows, etc...if they made a "special model", it was usually just stuff like cloth seats, better paint, maybe a set of Volante or similar alloy wheels...certainly underneath they were pretty much vanilla. Hell, i remember going to look at a new Fairlane with a mate in 1981, and air con was an extra-cost option! The commonest Fairlane had wind up windows, no air con, and sometimes vinyl seats...a better pattern, but still just vinyl. |

This car is if its the same 1 is silver with not many extras. It came through a car yard in Brisbane when i was detailing about 20 yrs ago. Then 5 yrs later my mate bought it but passed it on as being quite rusty and being a 6 pack his missus was unimpressed. lol

i dont think a 70 yr old would put clear tail lights, clear front indicators, extractors and a respray. Also those side mirrors look more like XF than XD

The XD in the picture doesn't have a passenger side mirror, is that normal?
