Default Brisbane Flooding

Hey all,

Just drove through Albion and there were a couple of cars with water up to their doors, quite a number of roads are almost flooded around the football grounds.

Just take care as some people were hitting these spots at 50+k's and making QUITE a splash

If anyone else has info or links to flooded roads please add it to the thread

GSAU

not sure whats happening with the roads around here today but i`m guessing that most of the local service roads will be closed.
i checked the rain gauge at 8am this morning and we have had 170 + mm since about 11 o`clock last night. the gauge was overflowing so anyones guess just how much we had.

might go for a drive soon and check out some of the creeks.

Not quite flooding, but a rather nasty storm hit Brisbane tonight. Pics.

The very stuff that reminds me of the "go betweens", I loved Brisbane in the 70s, early 80s. The weather appears to have done a full circle,... this is what it used to be like at Christmas!!

The bulk of it just past over where I am. No hail, just heavy rain and some wind. I don't think the wind was strong enough to do any damage here though, but there was a lot of close lighting strikes with loud thunder.

Not long ago, you can see that the most of the worst storm cells went north of Brisbane CBD.

Everyone on the outer-Northside up for round 2?

Got heaps of heavy rain with the first lot, but no hail here.
Hopefully the same can be said in about an hour or two. Does not look pretty outside.

Stay safe everyone.

Plenty of rain and hail here at Samford. Creeks are also too high to cross. Not a bad effort for 20mins or so of rain

Those truly are some spectacular shots of the storm front there DJM83.

Just before I discovered that all the power was out along Shore Street West in the commercial area of Cleveland including all the street lights. It's almost a once in a lifetime experience to see a place that lit up at night so dark. It might have been caused by damaged power lines I saw after the first storm this afternoon. I can only assume the pole was struck by lighting since there are no trees around there to fall on them.

Thankfully all the storm activity appears to be over in what truly was an eventful day. The Bureau of Meteorology radar shows more cells out west, but hopefully the places worst effected from today and yesterday will be spared from another hammering.

Great shots mate,
Good to see the white beasty was undercover too. I worked out you must work there when I saw the car there in the same place a few times
