I know this is the wrong forum and place to ask this, but my mate wants to lower his VR Calais, he said someone suggested him "lowering blocks". I thought lowering blocks are only used on cars with leaf spring suspension (which I think a VR Calais doesn't have?).

the big press at sims metal should lower it nicely !
sorry dude some one had to say it spend the money to do it properly buy new springs last longer and handle better |

I'm going to suggest lowering springs, but once you do that you generally have to replace the shock absorbers too right?
Doyou have to match them up or would any new shock absorber do with the new springs? Thanks much guys. Also I agree, put it in the press. |

Same consept as falcon. It has coils all round. However watch the back, as lowering will induce excessive camber, so rear camber kits will be required.

It helps to match the shocks with the springs yes. I suggest your friend visits your local suspension shop. Lowering springs are the way to go. VR is notorious for bad camber on the rear when lowered - it may need other bits to do it "properly"
