Default ED missing when under load

hi all...

my ed fairmont drives great when cruising along the highway but when you put your foot down to over take or acclerating up a hill it starts to miss - like its hic-cupping. it seems to happen everytime the car is put under load.
it also does it when at idle. all other times it runs like a dream.

any ideas would be great!

thank you.

I'd look at the electrical system first, leads etc.

test the coil, alot of them break down under load, put it in drive with handbrake on and foot on brake, give it varied amounts of load and it should miss , try it with a new coil then and the missing should be gone
