G'day All,
Just wondering if someone in here can help with a problem. Our Mondeo the airbag light stays on. I will try to give much detail as I can. We have never had this problem before. Back in 2019 we got a new airbag fitted from our local Ford due to faulty Takata airbags. All good since then until the last 2 weeks. I put my scan tool on, nothing came up no codes. Tried erasing any codes, the light would go off then about 5 secs later the light reappeared. Tried another scan tool I checked in RCM? came up if "seat belt warning lamp" so I tried to clear that, once the light did go out, but 5 secs later back on again. I disconnected seatbelt "stalk" plug on both drivers side and passenger side, then reconnected the plugs but the light didn't go off. Am I missing something? Is there other things I can try?. Since the Mondeo has 4 or 6 airbags could one of them be faulty? Any help would be greatfully received. cheers Mike |

Try checking the sensor under the seat, sometimes they just need an unplug/plugin

G'day JPD80, thank you for the info. I have looked at the video, doesn't really clearly show what sensor i need to look at but they can't be too many plugs under the seat. Will let you know how I went. cheers Mike

G'day jpd80,
checked out under the seat, totally different set up compared to the Ford Focus in the video, anyway unplugged connectors on both front seats made no difference airbag light still comes on. I tried my scan tool again found a code B0001: 13-8A Driver Frontal Stage1 Deployment Control. Just did a Google search on that code comes up could be number of things from faulty RCM to clockspring or even airbag. So might need to take it to ford dealer for more diagnosis. aAnd if its a faulty airbag hopefully they will replace it for free considering already have new one for the Takata airbag fiasco. But if anyone reads this and you have had some problem as me can you let me know how you fixed your problem. cheers Mike |
