Default New E Series owner....

Heyyas.....

Just thought i would introduce myself.

My name is John, from melbourne, Tonight i just put a deposit on a 1992 5 liter EB wagon S pack. This unit is mint, has low kays, beautiful bodywork, and it is all original, all the id stickers are intact and showing correct numbers.

So yeah.....I mainly got it cos we have 3 skylines and there is just not enough roon in them for the 2 kids and all the stuff we need to carry! And we need to tow a race car....so one of the skylines has to go now!

Any how.......mabye catch some of you soon...

P.S. I also have a cousin on here somewhere.......with a turbo Moroon ED futura......

Yeah....mick is my cousin.....

We have a 120 race car for motirkahna, autocross and rally trials.

My rb26dett powered R31 Skyline that i use for hill climbs, track sprints and the odd drift....it even gets driven to work when the weather is fine.

And my wifes rb30 turbo powered R31 that she uses to run the kids around and she drifts it also.

What can i say......we are a car crazy family!

I cant remember but i had something on.....

The thoughts keep going through my mind of what i can do to it......but I gotta leave it alone for a while.....It is black....so color code the door molds and get rid of the red stripe, XR front, some nice wheels, decent exhaust......ahh......a nother toy.

I have owned that R31 for the last 8 years or so and have been playing with it ever since. My wife has entered it into the Melbourne Auto Salon next weekend seing her car is not ready to go in. So yeah, if you happen to go, my car will be on the girls car club Evolve.

here is a pic of the ford.

Welcome, yeepee another E-Series Wagon member, thats awesome to see.
Nice conversion there on the R31 - a RB26DETT, I have a few mates in the skyline club with RB25DET's fitted putting out 360-400rwkw's, but now that the RB26's are becoming affordable everybody is opting for them.

Devious Jet - are you a member of SAU VIC (SkylinesAustralia.com)?

Back to the Wagon, what are the mods planned to it (a bit of NA power for a change)?

Yeah...I am from SAU.

The plan with the R31 was to build an EPA legal beast, so the factory ECU remains...I am re-tuning it next week and will most likely hit the limits os the factory ECU. After that.....well....I need to control myself!

As for the ford.....will most likely get color coded, extractors and a decent exhaust, some intake mods to the air box and some purdy wheels....and prolly leave it there.

That's all you need if you've got two weapons already. It'll look nice lowered over some 17s/18s and sound tough with a good exhaust. (Another set of Simmons FRs would look a treat on the EB )

I'm surprised the R31 ECU is able to handle the RB26DETT. If so, can the factory ECU be edited/flashed etc? Is it the same as the Jap R31 ECUs?

I probably should have explained it better! It is using the Factory R32 GTR ECU.

Everything to do with the engine is factory R32 GTR. ECU, Cooler, and so on...the only non genuine engine parts are the filters, cooler piping and the cam wheels.

So many thoughts about what to do to the EB......but then I remember...I now have no more money saved up to pay for future mods!

Yeah, Clear lamps are second on the list of things to do, after a major service.

I have seen the front clear indicators and EL wagon rear lamps with the clear indicator on Ebay, not sure of quality tho, but they seemed cheap enough.

I think AU? clear side repeaters fit? And are the XR fronts a simple enough job to stick on?

AU side repeaters fit with a tiny mod to them....i have a pic around somewhere..i'll see if i can dig em up

the XR front indicators are too easy to fit....remove headlight(4 bolts)..remove old indicator (3 screws) and slide the old indicator back.... slide the new clear indicator into the slides on the headlight and reverse instructions...
