Default Australian story tonight

did anyone see australian story tonight on ABC about Sir Jack Brabham?

i had the privledge of meeting Sir Jack and lady Margret in 98 when i was working at Kim's retreat on the central coast.

let me say this, i've never met an absolute gentleman (and probably never will) as sir jack.

watching tonight was a little sad to see the way his health has deteriorated over the past few years but it's also good to see he's not letting it get him down.

Excellent post. A living legend. Shame Australia doesn't appreciate him as we should.

Well done Jack on all your life achievements.

PS Webber dedicated his 3rd place in the English GP to Sir Jack's 50th anniversary.

Its such a shame that Formula 1 does not have the following in Australia to recognise this type of greatness.

It occurred to me that bewteen Jack and Allan, Mark Webber may soon (if he keeps going the way he has been) be in this very elite class of Australians.

It also amazed me that in the schematics they showed of Sir Jack's car, the Goodyear Tyre branding was even on the schematics.

Lets all do the same as Sir Jack and die without an enemy....Outlive the barstards lol

Sir Jack said, "I aim to die with no enemies, that is my goal now.... I want to outlive everyone of the bastards!"

i watched the show and must say that i was impressed and dissapointed at the same time.

i never knew that jack had achieved so much and was dissapointed that he has not been reconised and appreciated by the australian public or motor sports bodies the way he should be. a true sporting hero who should be held in the same esteam as Don Bradman.

also the McClaren racing connection. never would have thought it had originated from our cuzins in NZ.

Easily the most underrated Australian sportsman.

Who would have thought, an Aussie driver taking it to the world with a car he built himself.

I guess like most people, we will talk about how great a person is after he passes away. A shame really.
