Link

The 5.0 Litre Coyote manages to stay in the list this year too.

Impressive effort. definatly a massive boost for an engine that is battling sceptisism. (large car 4 cylinder and the stench that has been "mined" by the media. and people with long memories.

Awaits ford shouting this from rooftops............... only crickets and tumbleweeds can be heard and seen...

Well, since the Ecoboost is not available yet, that's not such a bad thing. If they don't advertise that fact when it's launched though we can be justifiably miffed.

It was one of five four-cylinder engines to make the cut this year. Others include Mazda’s 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G that debuted recently in its Mazda3, BMW’s similar-sized 180kW N20 TwinPower turbocharged engine from its Z4 and 528i, General Motors’ potent 201kW 2.0-litre Ecotec turbo from the Buick Regal GS
I'm as blue-blooded as any on here but that looks like a fly in the ointment to me.

But will the GM product have torque, or will it all be at 6750 rpm?

Not really, it's a hi-po engine for premium Buick and Opel applications and will never find its way into a cooking model like the Ecoboost.

Yeah they've probably wound the boost up to some ridiculous level like 30 p.s.i. to get that power out of it and it'll self destruct with the usual piston slap and excessive oil consumption within the first year, you know, just the usual

11 psi I think.

As for the GM engine it will look pretty weedy when Ford do an RS version of the Ecoboost 4.

Yeah that GM engine is a hi-po version of one that is already turboed etc, 160kw I think the "standard"" variant puts out
