just wondering if any body nows i am purchasing a ba mk11 xr8 the engine number starts with fpv is this normal or is there somthing special about this xr8

Thats normal. As the engines are built by FPV they get an FPV engine number.

I thought the XR engines are done inhouse at Ford

All BOSS motors are assembled by FPV including the 260's that go in the XR8's.

You would think so, but my understanding is that only FPV have an assembly line for modular V8's, hence why they do them. Meanwhile, the 3V is a crate motor and needs no production line.

Happy to be proven wrong on this, but it's how I understand the situation to be.

Those on the last AFF Raid would have seen the production line

And me dragging a 290 out whilst everyone was looking the other way, I got as far as the coffee machine and gave up
