WOW, blast from the past, used to love that stuff. I think my parents used to get it in their weekly delivery of soft drink.

I haven't had a Tarax for ages.
I want 7-11 to get their butts into gear and open up shop in SA. When I was in Melbourne in August I got seriously addicted to their frozen creaming soda... nothing like that over here, just the normal frozen coke and fanta garbage :(

used to have it in a machine at an old work place
havent seen it for years was the best creaming soda we have to get the 'traditional schwepps creaming soda' one now and that is better than that bloody pink one someone makes that at a guess would taste the same as floor cleaner its bad

I thought it was Tarax Creamy Soda, not Creaming Soda. I remember it made things very sticky after being spilt.

Having been employed in the soft drink industry for twenty years in my past employment life (Bundaberg Ginger Beer...shameless plug...) I can tell you that Creaming Soda is one of the more difficult drinks to make. Well, not make, but more like formulate.
For a start, there is the odd fact that there must be ten different styles of what different makers call "creaming soda"...I mean, sarsparilla is sarsparilla...cola is cola (with small variations)...orange is orange...but creaming soda runs the gamut from smooth yellow soft drink to some that is a red colour and tastes harsher. You have to get the colour right (because that tells people what to expect from the flavour...I prefer golden yellow creaming soda), the drink has to have the right creamy and smooth mouth feel, with the right carbonation for a sparkle on the tongue, combined with the right amount of sweetness...not too much to overpower the creaminess. It also has to have a good finish that leaves a pleasant after taste that has you giving the satisfied "Ahh" after you drink a nice cold one. It's not easy and a lot more complicated than people might think... |

Anyone remember Loys (I think it was) soft drinks? I remember at 14 years old I had a job on the truck picking up the empties and delivering soft drinks. Cocktail was my favourite! They had a nice creaming soda as well, one of the most popular choices.

Is the "KIRKS" red creaming soda anything like what you are talking about. I buy it occassionally at Woolworths on special.
Cheers Vincenzo

i could be totally wrong, but i thought it was called creamy soda in the 70's
from memory there was tarax and marchents - the marchents was horrible, so i think the tarax was the good stuff around the late 70's there was the drink called red creaming soda which of course was a raspberry "type" taste. it was however an acquired taste, it was a little bitter compared to normal raspberries. it was however similar to creamy soda in the fact it didn't need much shaking to explode upon opening now i drink the schweppes "brown creaming soda" which is similar to the great tasting tarax style p&n which is now tru blu still makes the red creaming soda, but of course the red and brown are nothing like each other and really cannot be compared while many may disagree, to me the brown is a vanilla type taste where as the red is a bitter raspberry. the brown one is smooth, the red one is not |

yep, it was called creamy soda doesn't mean much, but in the 70's the creamy soda and the red creaming soda had different names and like now were no doubt not marketed against each other it is only recently to my understanding, it has been changed to brown creaming soda. in the 70's there was no confusion between the two |
