But when you make cars like these then its pretty hard to follow up. Alot of the modern supercars all have the same silhouette IMO...perhaps not Lamborghini though but even their language is getting a bit predictable..same with Aston too. Like they all want to do a "911".

It might sound better, it might have a prancing horse badge....but its probably not much faster and would cost about 4-6 times the price.

In 10 years time the Nissan/Renault will be clapped out, wending about the western suburbs like other skylines. Worth nothing. |

R34's on Carsales are still about $50,000. Plus the total loss from the Nissan would be much lower then the loss from the Ferrari even if the % loss is much higher.

GTR is overpriced? Perhaps in Australia compared with other counties but the Nissan is the known bargain of the Supercar world. FFS the 2012 models gets to 100 in less then 3 seconds! still love the pic of the 620. |

ferraris sound much better then the nissan too - thats another thing about them, and dont need turbocharging to cheat their way to faster times. id rather a second hand v12 ferrari over the nissan if paying that price. plus every ferrari ever made looks better then it. plus the prestige factor. plus exotic engine with individual sound. etc. etc. the nissan is only a supercar in numbers. it doesnt have the style, no exotic engine, no prestige to be a real supercar. its a fast sportscar, but not a supercar. |

You sound like you're on ferrari's payroll.
The nissan is every bit the supercar, and I don't believe you can really say it isn't when it was designed to spank supercars all day everyday...and it can. In fact just ask the member here on AFF who just bought one, with his two 800+hp fun cars I think he is the best person to judge whether the 35 is a supercar or not. On topic the Ferrari looks great, one in black for the street one in silver for the track, thanks Ferrari!

Don't know why we're arguing GTR vs Ferrari, but, the 2012 GTR will go 0-100km/h in 2.8s - independantly verified by numerous magazines and online reviews. Quarter mile is high 10's at over 125mph. Nurburgring faster than any Ferrari (bar the FXX). Nissan has been doing this along time too remember. Personally, if it was between an R35 GTR and Ferrari 458 Italia for me, I'll take the Nissan. You can drive it every day, it can be serviced by a Nissan dealer and it won't cost $15,000 to service because they have to take the engine out and check for tolerances, it'll be reliable, more usable, and faster in every circumstance. Sure it won't get as many looks as the Ferrari, and won't make as nice of a sound, but it's horses for courses.
I forgot to add the tuning capability of the GTR too. 1500hp kits are avaialble now. Standard internals will do about 600hp I think too. Last edited by Nic85; 27-02-2012 at 07:43 AM. |

And by the way, Ferrari now have free servicing for the first 7 years. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2579340005B3E0 A Ferrari has passion and soul, a Nissan is just a machine. |
