Default Lunar eclipse tomorrow night

Hi all, tomorrow night from 11:45pm AEDT a Lunar eclipse will begin. Totality will last only 52 min from 1:06am AEDT. If the weather holds it will be a nice show.
Cheers
Geoff

I can tell an astronomical event is upon us.... I know, as we have heavy clouds and rain. Without fail, clouds/and or rain wrecks it. (Melb, that is)

You have until 2am, then it starts re-appearing. Hopefully clouds disapte for a few minutes just for that... lol

I'll have to check and see if this huge cloud has passed.

It was clear outside...so I stepped out the front door to take some shots...was confronted by my 60 year old tripod finally cracking it with the angle and moving during every shot...I give up... :(

I'm going to buy a manfrotto...

After playing with tripod shudder and vibration, a whole heap of different settings (faster/slower shutter speeds etc), this is what I've got to show...

Yes my bad for doing it straight after I got home. I used the convention of south is "down" but as we saw it south was at the top.

after a stormy night and being out fixing power lines all night we were heading home about 12.30am and the clouds broke for a while giving us a look at the old moon about half in shadow.
it was its normal bright white colour with the shadow part just a dark colour like it had a heavy cloud over it. not red coloured at all.

Laughed !!!
I was working at Eromanga when Halley's Comet appeared last and we all went to a place called (if I recall) Mt Margaret to watch it. It was supposed to be at the top of the list of best places to view from, but as history would have it, we did the same, "fell asleep" before anyone got to see it.
