Default New Car, Meguiars Hyper Wash?

Hey guys.

Just need to check something quick. Going to give my parents new Mazda tribute a scrub and i got Meguiars Hyper Wash. It sez

Hyper viscous, hyperactive concentrated formula for unbelievable cleaning power that invigorates colour while the hyper foaming action leaves an incredibly vibrant finish. Can be used to complement any Meguiar's Wax.

Would this be safe to use on such a new car?

Cheers

I'd be careful, depends how many kms are on the car really i'd be a bit wary using it until the car had 10,000kms on it. After that you should be fine

Yeah it should be okay. I use the 'soft wash' variant just to be extra safe (I'm a little paranoid though lol).

A little off topic...
Wash mitt or sponge? What's better/safer to use?

I am a recent convert to the lambswool Meguiars mitt. To me the wool has a softer feel that just has to be better for the paint job than an artificial sponge. I also find I don't drop the mitt like I do with a sponge (as it is attached to your hand). I stumbled on to it almost by accident they were $22 at the local autobarn but I picked one up in Kmart recently for $5 as they were clearing the stock. Picked up 2 at that price actually.

Yeh definitely a lambswool based product. In my experiences, sponges tend to scratch the paintwork and/or leave fine swirl marks.

Looks like I made the right choice then. I picked up one of those Kenco wash mitts from supercheap for $15.

I would actually say neither, lambswool mitts are hell to keep clean and dry out properly etc. every one ive ever had has ended up a tangled dried up mess.

try a Bowden's Wash Mitt, theyre microfibre and so far they are the best I have found. Cheaper than a Meguiars lambswool one too.

The Bowdens Own or Aqua Touch microfibre washmitts that forum sponsor www.waxit.com.au sell are great.
The Megs lambswool mitts are very nice but you need to search through all the ones at the store to get the best one as they can be a bit inconsistent you also have to rinse them out & hang to dry after use a give them a good soak before you use them next time as they stiffen up.

yeah thats exactly what i found with them, they stiffen up and its like washing your car with a piece of hairy cardboard.

i was so impressed with the bowden's one i bought out all our store's stock of them :

There is a massive variance in the quality of microfibres just because something says microfibre don't assume it's good.

I bought one of those and it was crap(grey and white with red band???), easily the worst product I've bought for car care. Was dubious but bought the Maguires Lambswool when I got some gold class car wash and it is by far up there as the best I've bought. Mine doesn't end up like cardboard and I simply rinse thoroughly when finished and hang up to dry in the laundry cupboard ready for next time.

Have also read on another forum that a quality microfibre glove is the best atm. My experience with Kenco means I won't touch them again.
