It's a concept, so it misses out on aesthetically detracting elements - ie: door handles and bumper mounted reflectors.

For those not liking the grille for its size and shape, the real thing is a lot more conservative (sadly :P ):

I want to like it, I really do, but agreed the Fusion is looking better.

But that roof and interior...damn...nice.

The rear end I think is ok, the front screams Pontiac to me?

The rear reminds me of those big old Infinity sedans we had here back in the 90s. Overal, looks great. Going from strength to strength at Lincoln.

Looks nice, it comes across as a proper lincoln...not like the past efforts.

Should be enough to attract Audi, Merc etc buyers...

Have to say I really REALLY like it. It's great to see Lincolns finally looking different to their Ford donor cars again. Amazing what a decent bank balance and an independent design studio will do...

So...based on the Mondeo/fusion platform, and FWD/AWD.

What could FoA do with this platform, if it has a floorpan with AWD capability, RWD could be a possibility yes?

Generally, no. The engine bay would be too short and the transmission tunnel too narrow for a F/R transmission to fit, without compromising packaging substantially. At least, that's how it has worked in the past. I suppose Audi manage to do it...

Isn't the lincoln based on the TAURUS platform, not the fusion one that was the twin MERCURY , have they made this off the fusion platform ??????????

I had to know so i clicked on the link of the first post & yes it is smaller as made from the fusion platform, I wonder why the lincoln downsized as it is a preferred vehicle for the 60's to 75 year olds in NA

I think the launch will be wed, at the expo, it should look good in the metal rather than the renderings

It's not downsized at all - the Zephyr / MKZ has always been on the Fusion platform, while the Continental / MKS has been the Taurus-based model.

It's THE most swish looking Mazda 6 I've ever seen.

Plus it has some Cadillac style DNA in it. Yuck.

Fusion/Mondeo much nicer. Loving the tail though.

I've posted more pics here: http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...8&postcount=63

MKS is based off Taurus.

MKZ was always beased off same platform as Fusion, which was previously the CD3 platform which came from Mazda 6.

Current Mondeo is on the EUCD platform and the new (2013) Fusion / MKZ / Mondeo is on a HEAVILY revised version of this.

not sure about the grille either , will reserve judgement till seen in the flesh, i like the rest of it though, be nice if the glass roof had variable welding helmet style dimming, the current lincon might be a dam good car, but it looks plain to me, not enough bling for a flagship model, this one would make people take notice i think, nice and airey in the cabin to.

With LED lights and HID/Halogen bulbs why would you want big rock magnets for headlights?

Lincolns are basically a premium trim level. It's a twin under the skin to Fusion/Mondeo.

This is a 2013 Ford Fusion Lincoln MKZ.

Ford have reportedly mentioned a change from this scheme in the future. i.e unique drivetrains and tech.

Front is horrible and the C pillar looks awkward in profile. Like they have tried to do a Bangle butt on it. Though the interior is very swish, I do like it.
