hey guys my bro just converted his au ute to 5 speed,
the speedos out so obviously the gear has to be changed so can we swap the speedo gear from the auto to the manual?? also the thermos are on all the time has it got anything to do with the cooler lines from the old tranny not being there?? |

I think the thermos being on is the auto ecu going into LHM. I know with e-series cars you can just use a resistor to trick the ecu, but not sure whether you'll need a flash tune or similar for an AU.

okay what about the speedo gear can we put the auto speedo gear into the manual box???

speedo gear should be the same auto and manual, so you can just change it. if for some weird reason they're not the same, they are pretty cheap anyway.
as above about the resistor. not sure if it works on au's, but any decent tuner with capa flash software should be able to change the transmission settings, from what i understand the ecu thinks the transmission is overheating so runs the thermos flat out all the time. GK may have some help as he has done this to his too. good luck |
