It's not clever. It's totally unexpected, idiotic, and dangerous. What if he fell out of the aeroplane? Imagine the civil aviation authority trying to explain finding a crashed aeroplane with no obvious faults and the pilot's corpse a few kilometres from the wreckage with his pants around his ankles!

A meatbomber is a pilot who commands an aircraft used for parachute operations. Meatbombs are the payload. The aircraft are also sometimes called meatbombers.

They are the aviation equivalent of bogans. No regard for air law, safety or other traffic.

It is probably not the pilot, all fixed wing aircraft are flown from the left seat and it looks like the right one together with the door has been removed.
The aircraft looks like a really old 182 and as it looks like it is configured for parachute operations if it ever had an autopilot it would have been removed to save weight.

The mooner is probably just a skydiver.

Ok thanks for that, funny, but I had never heard it before. Strange, but from my experience as PIC "meat bomber" pilots have always been very professional, always reporting their intentions on MBZ or area frequencies. Have you had probs with them???

Other than climbing in IMC and then deploying on top, dropping and then racing the meatbombs down to the deck, dropping into the circuit while there is inbound or circuit traffic, no not many problems........

They always want to land at the airport so everyone can see them.

I nearly hit several of them at Whitsunday ALA when I was about 100ft on finals in a Seneca and one just appeared about 500m in front of me, no calls no nothing. I nearly sh1t myself. What do you do? Go around and hit another one on climb, Land short and hope you don't break anything, continue approach and hope he gets out of the way, land around him?
You obviously fly so you know how many laws I could have broken.

I dropped 40 deg, closed the throttles and fluffed it on. Luckily all I had was freight.

I have seen a Sunstate shed go around because they dropped into the circuit at YHBA.

Maybe your meatbombers are better behaved although YBAS is a primary so there should not be any problems there.

I can see why you would be miffed. The last contact I had with them was just south of Archerfield, there is a resort there with a ALA (cant remember the name just now) but anyway, every time I went there, there were always "meat bombers" operating. They were always pretty good. But I do remember the drop plane cork screwing to race them to the ground. Talk about a guts dropper!!
