Yep, played it a few weeks ago, took me about 6hrs to finish.
Very similar to COD MW2 but you can actually destroy stuff in this game !! I'd give it an 7/10 because COD has a HUGE selection of guns. That said, my favourite shooter at the moment is Operation Flashpoint, nothing like dropping an enemy soldier at 750m with my thermal sight equipped SCAR-H (7.62mm).

I'm sort of waiting until I've got the US$69.99 to buy it off Steam, will work out cheaper than buying it in store that's for sure.
And I think I'll hold off getting MW2 due to the whole no dedicated server thing, so BC2 looks like it shall be my next shooter of choice.

Was it a brand new copy or pre-owned? (I think they only do brand new for PC?) I'm sick of Steam having prices jacked up now, used to be around the US$49.99 mark for any new release game, way cheaper than any shop, and now they're right up there, MW2 at US89.99 is pretty much the same as the stores, kind of defeats the purpose of why I got Steam in the first place, to get cheap games legit!

Oh well, will still have to hold off until I have some money together. Supposed to be trying to save for the aufalcon.com Horsham trip anyway!

Play it every night online - haven't even looked at the single player portion and probably never will.
In fact, as soon as I'm done here I'm off to play BC2. I do ok online, my K/D is currently at 1.50 and my skill level is 393. |

I bought this release 2 weeks ago and played it for maybe 4 hours. Horrible game in comparison to COD... rather wait for a server

Bc2 is far more visually impressive and your straight into a game, almost no wait. Not as intense gameplay as mw2 as the maps are bigger but driving an abrahms or flying an apache beats the camp fest that mw2 has developed into.

I can't play the new COD's either.. I played the original on PC to death (it was literally all I did when I wasn't asleep or at uni)
And the new ones just don't have that same feel to me

Don't bother about BC2 on PS3/Xbox 360 because they still haven't released Aussie dedicated servers, so it'll be a lagfest. Funny because they said they would and they did for BF1943 on PS3.

MW2 doesn't have dedicated servers, only peer to peer, which means you're relying on someone hosting a game, so it largely depends on their internet connection. If someone hosts with ADSL2+ it'll be perfect, if the host leaves and it selects someone on 3G/NextG or someone with low upload speed it'll turn into a lagfest quickly. Once you play a PC game or the odd console game with dedicated servers, especially one hosted in Australia, you'll notice the difference between 20ms and 200ms, things like dying around the corner, etc. Have a bunch of Aussies play against a bunch of Americans, and you'll notice the Americans have a big advantage over you, even though in real life, 200ms is basically nothing, you can really notice it in games. |

plus you can spawn on any of your squad members. Plus without the ability to prone (which i bitched about) means those pesky campers need to keep moving or get a bullet through the face.
I'm loving it. after playing COD4 its a bit of a mind screw getting used to the game play again, but yeah, great fun
