Default Xy gtho

Did anyone hear what the Slattery auction XY GTHO sold for in the end? I heard the web site crashed just before bidding was due to end.

Chaos at auction sees mint-condition 1971 Ford GT-HO pass in at a massive $976,000 after website crash stops the sale - and you won't believe what they reckon it'll sell for now:

Hi Guys,
I cant get my head around a person paying that much for a GTHO.

About 10 years ago my aunty passed away and as we were walking out of the church i put my arm around my cousin and said "I bet your sorry you sold your Original Torana A9X now'.
He said " did you have to mention that"

The other thing that i cant understand is The barn find cars that people pay a fortune for?
If a car been sitting in a barn for 20 years besides the body and paint needing work the seals would need replacing, engine, window, brakes may be seized up fixing all those problems is big bucks.

This was also the GT used in the FPV marketing, magazines, brochures and TV commercials so we would have all seen it at some point in time!! Surely that alone is worth 300K to someone who can afford it over one that hasnt.

I am pleased the prices continue to climb. We get closer every high bid, to full reproduction bodyshells à la Mustang and Camaro.

You are forgetting something though. Those repro Dynacorn shells can be registered in the US. Repro shells CANNOT be registered in australia. Hence we will never see them here.

The cars up for auction (GTHO, torana, datto and 3 others), were the private collection of WA businessman Chris Marco "after his company AMS Holdings was wound up in the Federal Court by the Australian securities and Investment Commission amid claims his managed investment scheme owed 132 investors $240 million."
