Purchased a car off a colleague, as they have purchased one from overseas. They said it would land here on the 12th, what other processes are involved until they actually get the car, and how long does it take.
New to this. Thanks |

In what way? Have you already paid some money? What state are you in? You need to provide a little more detail.

We need more info.
Will the car have the Australian Compliance plate on when you get the car, or will you have to arrange this? Are you paying the GST, customs etc. Is it a private import done by the guy your buying it from or is it from a company? You might have to change parts on the car such as exhaust and such to meet EPA compliances. |

Delivery dates for new cars can be blown out by weeks or months as well.

It reads as if the original buyer got sick of waiting and has decided to buy the same car but from overseas??
However I can't recall of any new car that you can do this with accept for the new Scirocco as there is a cut off date for earlier model imported Scirocco's. |

Sorry for being unclear, this is exactly it! All I'm wondering is how long it would sit in customs for before being cleared? |

It probably wont take long to clear Customs.
Then the fun will start depending on if the car meets Oz design rules and then meets the state requirements. Don't hold your breath.
