Default GT40-P/1074 sold for $11,000,000

A very rare and historic car fetched a pretty reasonable price at auction.
When they were filming the movie “Le Mans” they removed the roof and used it as a camera car as it was the only thing fast enough to film the 917 Porches down Mulsanne straight.

A fantastic example.

Here’s some of the movie. The footage at 1:50 was taken from this car.

Someone wanted that particular car bad...

Hulk could build that car out of a GT40 replica, for um, about 1% of 11 mill. Be just as good, and probably faster. No way it was worth it.

Nice...but my eye was drawn to the 1938 Talbot-Lago T23 Teardrop Coupe...

Drive a GT40...even an original GT40...and people will, like Cobras, think it's just another kit car...drive that work of art Talbot-Lago and you'll really stop traffic...

my old boss has a very good GT40 kit car, its sex on wheels.

openly admits its an investment for him, it only owes him circa 50k... and its magazine quality.

only gets driven once every few months, mainly to the tech that services it for him.

beautiful car.

awesome looking car!
Look down further at the gt40 that sold for 2.6million, that looks pretty ordinary with those wheels!
