Mmmm Keg. Do you guys pay for the beer and leave a deposit at the bottle'o (liquor store) for the keg itself and the magic box?

the hell with Bud. I wouldn't sentence anyone to drink that horse pee. I got me some Shiner Bock. (Texas microbrew)
That being said, I really wanna try some VB, but sadly they don't sell it in the US. The only thing they sell is Fosters, which is marked under the name "Fosters, Australian for Beer" which I think is pure crap.

If you find somewhere that sells it, be sure to grab a Coopers Pale Ale whilst you're there. Will be interested to hear your thoughts. Dunno if they're allowed to sell it in some parts of the US? I think it's a bit stronger than most of your domestic brands (i.e. 5% alcohol and upwards). Fosters is rubbish beer.

As far as I know, any beer is legal in a liquor store. There are some beers that are 15%+ More than likely, I would be willing to bet its some issue with distribution. As far as I'm aware of, the Budweiser sold here is 5.5%

I'll write that down and look for them next time I go to the beer store. I've never heard of any of those though.
It would be typical...we rarely see the best products of another country over here. :(

I thought VB stood for: The crap we trick tourists and backpackers into drinking!
Give me a Coopers sparkling or a James Boags Premium any day. You can keep the Vomit Bombs.

I've had Fosters once, in Chicago of all places, where the barman exclaimed, in a poor version of the Aussie Accent, 'You're Australian, I'll give you a native brew.' All I can say about that is one word, CRAP. I've been hoarding Coopers Pilsener since Christmas, and have only started drinking that now. Its not bad. Home Brew is something I remember my Grandfather doing. I remember the stench, and the daily testing, and also the way he had four of them going at once. He produced 20 bottles for my 21st, which were, to say the least, revolting. He never mastered the homebrew scene, and until his death 4 years ago, drank a carton of VB every two days. He was 90. -Andrew

I don't know too many people who like VB. In fact, people call it "Old Man's Drink" haha.
The best Aussie beers IMO are Hahn ICE, Hahn Premium and Cascade Premium... As for Fosters... :

Fosters is good. So many band-wagon people who don't bother to try it and then rat on it! Out of a stubby it's quite good stuff. Now VB, that's like cat's ****. There are just too many quality beers; Toohey's Extra Dry, Toohey's Pilseners, Coronas, Grolsch (droool), Asahi, Beez Neez, Pure Blondes, some of Coopers offerings and the list goes on mmmmm :
