And the www link points to HOLDEN-MONARO-BONNET-SCOOP .. !!! , i dunno if i want to even look ! ..lol ..
ok , so i looked .. and imo YUK , looks horrid , doesn't suit the curves of the original bonnet with them just pretruding up like that , needs to be sunk/cut into the bonnet with the whole top of the bonnet height raised and the same height ( like the XA/XB GT bonnet scoops ) - have seen 1 of them modified cut&shut from a XB to AU bonnet somewhere on here , looked better than that thing imo !! - allthough still needs to be refined a bit more too i think , needs to suit the shape of the rest of the car more .
Call me 'old school' but i still think the only thing that has looked half decent on the AU hood is the black Shakers / like off the old XY GT's , they seem to suit alot of model fords imo , sure would be nice to have something original for the AU that suits though .

lmao - true - allthough the sad thing is - if left in the shed too long, the only thing that would be left after rust kicked in would be that horrid fibreglass scoop on the bonnet ..lmao
... but then again , there is allways gonna be a few people who will like it , each to their own , probably people with fingerprints on their prescription glasses ! . lol , give them a wipe so you can see properly :hihi:

Perhaps the owner really likes them? Does this justify putting him down coz he did something to HIS car that HE likes??.....*pondering*

well it's not a look I'd personally have on my AU, but then we all have different tastes I guess it's just one of those things that you either like it or you don't.

I like it, but personally, I would prefer to stick a GT bonnet bulge on mine... but I'm not gonna do either. Personally, I like the look of the scoops, and I must admint that Holden did do a good job of it on the Monaro MK2. It would not surpise me if Ford did something similar to the new Orion GT Family soon.

Default You guys think thats bad

i was at dynomotive in bayswater my mate was getting some tuning done, and they have a VY Spac S/C and it has a XR8 Boss Hump on the bonnet and looks ИИИИ and outa place its like flat and then boof a hump pops up. holden fans say they dont like fords but doesnt stop them from stealing ideas, i dunnno how many holdens ive seen running around with fords AJR signature wheels on them, POX wouldnt see a AU or BA with vtss wheels on it, wouldnt wanna degrade it with wheels like that anyways.

Is it just me?

Must be working too hard?

it looks like crap, i saw that the other day, but didnt even think about posting a link.
I guess someone obviously wanted it done, and it really looks bad!

Even XB style bonnet scoops would look stupid on a late model falcon.

Its a pitty no one has come up with an "original" idea for the bonnets of the AU's.

15 minutes of mucking around with 'MSpaint' and this is what i come up with roughly . I think maybe something along the lines of this wouldn't look to bad , sorta keeps the original shape and curves of the hood too, something original anyway with the scoops in a bit of a different place to usual , allthough if a mod like this was done you'de have to get rid of or move the intake snorkle - but im sure the scoops would be workable somehow to be used for the air intake . If i can get my hands on a spare bonnet i wouldn't mind trying something like this. Maybe not the final shape yet , but anyone like the shape/lines im heading along ?
