Question Power Window Problem In ED Fairmont

Hi
Ive got a ED fairmont 1993 Model and the power windows have got issues, they dont go up or down, what needs to be replaced to fix the problem with the windows ?, the drivers one is the only one that works but I have to push it to make it go up, the other 3 windows dont work, but im thinking its the window regulators which are stuffed, in the other three, Does anyone have any idea on where to find some and or how to remove them from the car and be able to replace them once ive found some to replace them. or what the problem might be with the windows and what to go through and check

Thanks Shawn

Default ok thanks

yep, what should i look for in that module in the centre console and thanks for the welcome I know the passengers Left front window is definately had it because it keeps sliding down, and the cable is snapped and I dont know where to get one of them from, worst coming to worst what would be the easiest solution? like grabbing windows from a different model and then installing them into my ED

from my experiences i had no choice then to buy a new module, so go to the wreckers and you might be able to pick up one for $50 or less, and for that cable the same thing has happen to my left front passenger window, the cable snapped and couldnt really do much about it, you would have to replace the whole motor set that includes the cable itself, which would be around $120 - $150 brand new

Default thanks so much

ok basically i get a new centre console unit and get the amount of motors i need to replace them
and secondly how do you install the new motor into the window because when i removed the "door trim" all that i could see was two holes and it looks really hard to replace anything so if you could enlighten me on the way to replace it that would be awesome, well thanks for all your guys help, other than that problem my car is going pretty nice.

and as for the front window drivers side, the window goes down but not up properly i have to push it, what do i have to do to rectify that problem? and do you know who sells the motors for the windows?
thanks once again

sray the tracks with a silicon base lube. like inox or similer. dont use wd40 cause it will cake up with dirt. worked for mine

Default thanks fordboy

umm yep that should help it and with the windows can you adjust the angle they come up so its even, because i think thats more of a problem than the actual track itself, the window goes down, i'll try the inox first and get back to you if i have any issues, thanks for the fast replies

Thanks Shawn

Those would be rivets, you drill them out and can replace with screws. I got my motor from a wrecker, but if it happened again I'd research the cost of buying new.
