Default BS or possible?

http://www.bubblisious.com/ausrevsbe...d.php?tid=1852
If you cant read it heres some snippets from the thread.

Quote:
and spend a further $8,000 on the engine with massive performance upgrades etc,he then had it dyno tuned and made 170rwkw's ,drove out he door did 2,000kms in it ,put it away ,the owner then sadly somehow passed away ,and the vehicle was passed on to the 60yr old private salesman.....

I then piked the car up days later and started to investigate ,i took it to my workplace and had it dynoe'd and it was telling me 120rwk'ws,i then called brendan mock son of jim mock ,we spoke for an hour or so made arangements to tune it in house......the car made an emmence climb in power by 64 rwkw's,we then were astounded .........with after market engine managemet {custom built piggy back set up}i now make an unbeleivable 199 rwkw"s,i have more N/A mods to do ,and i will make 270 rwkw's by this summer .

Im not sure if this bloke is for real or what but Ive never seen that sort of power n/a from a falcon 6 and from what ive read it would be a big $$ investment and alot of hard work.

Can anyone prove this? This one is for all you I6 smartie pants and of course all you other smartie pants. And even not so smartie pants like me :P

This bloke has also promised to show dyno charts and photos but none have shown up so far...

Is this total BS or is it possible?

*Note: If this is in the wrong place can a mod move it to a proper place?

It's possible mate I've seen it in the flesh and seen it go. This guy is a mate of mine. Mock actually has tuned it to 188rwkw but there still is some mods to go.
There will be a meet 2nd august at Nunnawading Maccas in melb and you can have a look.

BTW this is a freak car.

One of those much sought after freak cars huh. Amazing sometimes isnt it.

Ive read about some of the mods needed to be done to reach 180rwkw and its alot of work and not too cheap.

Dont wanna seem like a tool but I would still love to see dyno sheets for it. Car like that would make alot of pussy cats run for cover lol

guarenteed mock watts.

It doesn't take much to get 170rwkw - 200rwkw with a I6.

You will need;

- Major head work
- Very intense CAM
- Chip and Tune (Or aftermarket ECU)
- Manual gearbox
- Rebuilt bottom end to cope with the power over time (more of a reliability thing)
- Bigger injectors
- More fuel
- Extractors + exhaust

I take it by "mock watts" that the Mocks dyno is slightly biased?

Those who go on fordmods would know about ITS engines. Would these be a more acurate figure powerwise?

i dont get some of the ower figures thrown out by tuners. I was quoted by 1 tuner that with defillipo stainless extractors, high flow cat, exhaust, serious cold air intake and massive air box, and a flash tuner with custom dyno tuning i could see about 150 - 160 rwkw if i'm lucky, and then nizpro reckon with a niz edit and new fuel pressue reg and no other mods its good for 160 - 165rwkw, for half the money, or with extractors and high flow exhaust as well 175 - 180rwkw. Throw in a new cold air intake and plenum and it's 195 - 200rwkw.

I trust the first tuner i spoke to over Nizpro any day of the week, but why is there such a big difference? Is 1 tuning on the fine line of being bad for the engine or have they just found something the other hasnt?

About time someone said it.

All dynos will show different figures ... and they can be fudged (remember reading a thread about a 1800hp Holden .. and found the intake air temp was fudged so the dyno corrected the figure to show a much higher reading that what it was supposed to be.

Take it to the track and put a good strip driver behind the wheel to "really" test it.

Only time i look at dyno figures are to compare differences between different mods at the time ... but that's all.

I would say yes. Mark (ITS) is a good bloke and has a few of his engines in quick cars.

Guys you can sit there and moan about mock, but they do produce results. This thing dosn't have bolt ons and puts out that sort of power, the engine had $8000 work when he bought it and he put in another $2000.
Christ I cant believe it's his daily driver, as the clutch is almost impossible to push in.
Also it'll beat CV8 Monaro's.

I've posted above where you can see this car, it's an absolute sleeper as it looks like my grandad should be driving the thing.

Hahaha ok.

Mine has 170rwkw. And that was on the Autotech Dyno. It got 182rwkw on the Mock dyno. FYI (and not having a go at anyone) but the Mock dyno (the last time I saw it) was not a DDD and the printout was quite average. Also it was run in 2nd gear to get that result.

Secondly, I only have the mods listed below in my sig, to get to the 170rwkw mark. I am planning on getting some serious work done on it by G&D (see the G&D section where they are looking for BA NA I6 guinea pigs), and once the heads and cams are done, as well as an edit to replace the chip and a new custom exhaust and a range of other things, it will probably pull over 200rwkw on the dyno.

More importantly, my car has only done 14.8 flat at 95 mph. It should have done better but it didnt. It has a poor set up, namely a really bad clutch, no LSD and it needs 3.7s or better as well as semi slicks (not bald Dunlops)...

All of that work is going to be done too, and so with all the set up taken care of and the extra mods, it will probably get into the 13s, hopefully mid 13s. At the moment its not much more than a dyno queen and Im hoping to change that.

Yes, the Mock boys do good work. But their dyno has always been a bit happy (hence the term "Mockawatts") and there is plenty of good competition out there now, doing work on the BA I6 (NA).....

Jac

PS I know mine is a BA and is different, but I couldnt tell what model I6 it was from the link because it wouldnt let me in and nowhere on here says what it is... anyone like to update me as to what model...

Does it have 16" EL FTR rims?
Does the guy go by the user name "SHYVH" or something similar is is friends with certain user-name?

I have seen a few decent N/A 6s out there ... one being a Heritage Green EL Fairmont that looks grandpa spec in Sydney ... being held back by a Stage 2 cam ... but has had a bit of money plunged into the motor ... only made 145kW on an MDX dyno ... but it did make around the 550Nm (at 105km/h in 4th gear).

But as I said .. dynos show different figures ... depending on different brands ... and the operator as well as SAE corrected figures.

But 270rwkw from an N/A I6 motor ... I really can't see it happening.

BUT ... with forced induction or assistance of gas ... yeah it's achievable.

Yeah thats him. He had a VH before that ran some good times.

XRChic - for an EF the values coming out of the car are fantastic, the car was slightly detuned as well. For the B series engines 180+ is quite easy and cheap as the VCT helps alot. Mockwatts or whatever he produces results on the track which is why I have respect for them, and it isn't just one car that they have great results with.

Ahhh ... fair enough ... just going on the top quote saying after getting more N/A mods he will be making 270rwkw by Summer.

And I wasn't bothered registering and signing up just to read one post in another forum. So i just went off the top quote only.

Although i did mention though if running boost or on gas it could be achieveable.

So the engine has had 10 grand spent on it and its making heaps less power than a turbo conversion would have got for half the price. Doesn't really seem worth it, although I realise not everyone likes the idea of turbos.

Heya

I was implying a E-series I6, as that's what I thought the original poster meant.

Of course a DOHC BA I6 would be able to achieve that kind of result.. It's a much nicer, more refined engine with alot more potential..

Cheers
