Default Microtech ECU's

Hi ppl

i been looking at some prices for after market ECU's for the EL, one place recommeneded a microtech over the wolf 3d they said it better to tune then the wolf.

Just would like to know if anyone used them B4 and what you think? Got a price which was $1800 tuned and all or $1400 if i install it which is ment to ИИИИ easy to do and i look and the wiring diagram and it doesnt seem that hard and it also comes with a laptop link cable.

Cheers

Nick

What model microtech are they offering?

Chances are they recommend microtech because thats what they have used before and are familair with it. Most of the ECU's around that price range have similar features.

I go back tomorrow and find out which one, i think he said LT8 if thats one of them. They use to be a Wolf 3D dealer as a mate has been there before when they had the wolf's to get a price but they deal with the mircotech now.

He also said it can control everthing the the stock ECU can beside the auto i hopefuly that wont be around for much longer :

As stockstandard said, around that price they have similar features. Though the newer Microtech's like mine have some nifty stuff like 2-step limiters.

Pick a tuner, then go with whatever management they know best. We wanted Anthony at Maztech to tune my car so I went Microtech.

Very good point, no good picking an ecu because you think its cheap, and then having to drive an hour to find someone that wants to tune it....

Well i was gonna pay $1890 for JMM one but im not going for that anymore, so i thought $1800 for a microtech is good just never see a E-series with one but heard alot people using wolf.

TUFED6- what model is your ECU and where did you get it tuned? And maybe a price if you dont mind me asking?

Or does anyone know a good tuner in the Geelong area?

thanks

Nick

Most places are using the Wolf3D's as they have dealt with it and it does the job, but it allows only so much that you can tune and adapt, hence the MicroTech is better value. It is one of the affordable ECU's in the $2000 rane that produces great results for race and street use. I went with the MicroTech LT10s for my application. There is alot of good Microtech tuners in the Thomastown area.

I could not entirely pick out the facts for you, however prior to going with MicroTech I shopped around several places that deal with Wolf3D, MicroTech, Motec, Haltech, Chips, Apexi, Greddy and they recommended as a alternative to purchasing Motec ($$$$$) to go with MicroTech due to the wide range of settings allowed to be tuned and affordability. I have been advised that Wolf3D is a advanced version of getting a chip, not that I have anything against one or the other.
In the end it's personal preference as every installer and tuner with have a different opinion. At the time I was tossing between MicroTech, HalTech and Wolf3D.
