Pfttt..... seriously, who would bother hacking a website that targets useless husbands and wives. Instead, why don't they attack KFC and gives us the ingredients for the secret spices!!!!

I was reading an article about how Ashley Madison is being sued in the states because the vast majority of female profiles are actually fake.
Wouldn't that suck... Not only does the missus go crook when she finds out you've been scoping a possible trade in, or weekender but that weekender may not even exist in the first place. Hookers make life so much simpler. |

You won't find many with sympathy in this case but when you look at it objectively it is no different to any other privacy breach.
Depending on what you read there were a lot of fake profiles and they allowed unverified emails so there is plausible deniability. How much is legit remains to be seen. Nah mate they are already past what one, picking out options and colours already From what I understand Aussies won't have any legal option here though since it is an overseas website. Maybe they can pursue over there. |

Unless maybe someone (as a joke or for revenge) used a person's legit work email to set up a fake profile in the hope the victim would get a flurry of saucy emails +/- get in strife with their government employer.

Signing people up to all sorts of websites. That's one of the oldest pranks in the book. I understand there might be a few people stupid enough to use their government email address to sign up for sites like this but hundreds? Highly unlikely. If you know which department a person works for and their first and last name, it is not hard to deduce a legit email address. I don't know how easy it would be to track that down to determine if it was a prank or not. I think any employee would just be glad to be cleared rather than go down a legal road. They could also be the user-names of any Chefs on that website doing-the-dirty. Black Pepper would probably get the most replies. As for ground sage, he's on the wrong site.

I am not into this stuff, but wouldn't you make a secondary email address if you were going to secretly join this website? Like anyone can get an email address in no time at all, why risk using a known email address.
