I am wanting to upgrade the brakes on my AUII XR8 Ute, after doing some research I have found a few different options.
First question, are BA/BF/FG standard Falcon callipers all the same? If i was to go down the path of BA front callipers, is there anything else I need to upgrade? Rotors or Brake Lines or Brake Booster? Is there any point upgrading the rear brakes? I have heard that Territory rear callipers can be fitted? PS. The car is used for a tow car, so not wanting to go anything too big or wild :p |

Go for BF XR6T/XR8 or Territory brakes, they are a bigger rotor and work well, and you wont have issues getting pads etc down the track. Cheap too, I picked up mine for about $350 and had the mechanic fit them, best money I've spent in a while. It all bolts up perfectly too.

So what do I actually have to get?
BF XR6T/XR8 callipers, rotors and lines? Anything else? Will the standard wheels clear the brakes? Is there any point upgrading the rears? Oh and what about the booster? :p |

Calipers, rotors and lines, pads will help too!
Lines will connect to the AU lines, no booster changes or mods required. 17" wheels will fit but you won't be able to go any lower due to the size of the rotors.

So what research did you do?
You'll just need to get the BA lines. Most people are going braided, but if you do, go braided all round not the just the front. Can someone confirm??

Just picked up some BF XR8 callipers for $110 each
Now to buy some rotors and pads. What do people suggest for the rear? Or is there no need? |

Just doing some research on rotors, are BA XR6 Turbo / XR8 rotors the same as BF XR6 Turbo / XR8 rotors?

No. They got the standard ba rotors unless you optioned the premium ones, which are different from the bf again.

BA and BF rotors are not the same, the BA ones are smaller. I personally would not bother doing the rears unless a set came up for a very good price, most of the braking is done at the front anyway.

What I meant to say is, what rear brakes would you get if you had to replace the factory ones?

Are they a straight bolt on for the ute with callipers on rotors?
Is there only one type of Territory rears? |

Sorry for all the questions, but what about BF XR8 rear callipers and rotors, would they be a straight bolt on?
