Hi guys
Picked up an ICC wiring loom from you guys today that included the analogue dash clock connector. Being that I have a BF with auto-lights I have a hi-series "green" coded BEM. A while ago I picked up a dash clock on eBay that is from a BF Fairlane. After reassembling my ICC tonight using the new loom (looks fantastic with the new facia I also grabbed from you guys today btw) I whacked it back into my car and plugged the clock in only to find that the clock does not light up (everything else about it works). Sam had mentioned to me that he'd seen this problem before on XT's, but seemed a bit more confident that I'd be fine because my car comes with a hi-series BEM. In any case his optimism was understandably cautious and I was therefore prepared for there to be an issue or two. Anyway, do any of you guys know if there is a way to resolve this issue? I'd really like to keep all this behind the ICC rather than resort to wiring the clock up to the instrument cluster. Thanks. |

I have determined through further investigation that the negative dimmer line is not getting passed to the clock loom. This is why I don't have any illumination. For now I have made up an adapter that simply grounds the illumination line. It means of course that the clock will always be fully illuminated regardless of the level of the rest of the instrumentation but I can live with it until I can be bothered removing the ICC again to figure out a proper solution.

How did you go I installed a dual zone icc on my bf xt “hi series” on the weekend and got a clock from the wrecker as well. No light, not sure if it’s a faulty clock of wiring? I plugged it into the icc plug for clock

Ok did some recherch and worked out yes it’s the dimable neg- wire on the 4pin plug. “Dual zone icc have extra plug on top”
One of the 2 black wires both being -neg one is for the constant clock power the other is for the light. To fix can be easy -Always full illuminated just joint both black wires -Do dim with dash find which black one is the dim -neg (with light tester find an earth on body, find the constant clock+ on plug, loop clock + with the black wires, the black that the light won’t turn on with is the dim-) power supply is on cluster pinout 19 light blue red illumination output 25w |

Yep, BEM as the clock plug also connects to the BEM. That's how it is from factory on HI series looms. Also a lot neater than running wires all over the place.

So I’m thinking I might just need to make a loop at the bem plugs? I found a tech write up and there a table with “j6/10 illumination return blk/blu” could this be the empty spot or neg dim return for the icc lights? |

After pulling car apart and looking the easiest way to get the neg dim was to run from cluster to top of dash “clock” 30cm of wire. Cluster is fairly easy to remove (5 screws rubber flap 2 plugs) If you can remove the icc the cluster is a walk in the park. U might not Evan need to remove icc but I did to investigate
