Are the XE and EL blocks the same?
Can I get an XE motor and put an EL head on it?...are they different at all? (exept for the EFI) Cheers!

I'm fairly confident that they're comprehensively different... main thing being the EL head has a cam in it ;)
XE block has a cam in it... One is OHV, the other is OHC. |

Why not get an EL donk, use the XG ute engine mounts and drop it in.

Hi,
Iwant to put a el xr6 motor into my xe station wagon and have been told that the XG ute engine mounts will fit the conversion. do you know if this is true. cheers Matt |

Yeah those mounts will work, plus you will need the trans, loom and ecu from the doner car. Depending on the state you are in, you will probably need an engineers cert.
