I might be wrong but, there was really only one turbo kit around for the EAs, it was made by AIT and several companies then fitted that kit to their cars. As I understand SVO was one of those companies.

I believe there at least 2 different kinds of EA Turbos (AIT & ATO? or something like that) and yes there was also a supercharged EA.

All dealer optional kits and were not fitted by Ford themselves.

Use search

Webby's EA SVO's weren't turbos, from memory the engine's were standard apart from the exhaust system.

You are quite correct, the SVOs were more suspension, wheels, interior and two tone paint. However (and I'll have to do some digging to find it) Motor magazine did a performance car shootout back in the 80s and the car that won it was a red EA Turbo SVO with Mick Webb doing the driving.

Of course the box of magazines are sitting in the most inaccesable position but stay tuned, I'll find it and get a scan.

Hot tip. That was an AVO falcon, AVO and SVO work together a lot back in the 80's to develop preformance falcons.

He did headwork and intake work on the straight 6 – but I don’t know if he got it complied with emissions. Therefore he couldn't sell it.

The AIT turbo package definitely WAS offered on the SVO Falcons (right near the end of their production). And they were good jiggers.

I think the engineer (Ingall?) behind the AIT Turbos (including the 4WD XF) is working with APS occasionally.

Dick Johnson’s turbos were a bit rough (even for prototypes).

Mike Vane in Queensland was another one turboing the Ford I6 – I don’t know if he is still going (probably is just isn’t chasing magazine publicity).

Random info: The AWD XF is being rebuilt by a member on AFF.

There were so many different EA's SVO's, Brocks, Sprints, AIT, AVO (i think this is the supercharged ones) and *something* 9000 .

APV SR3900
the supercharged ones were called TSS
AVO and AIT had nothing to do with them.
EA Sprints were nothing special.

Most of these "special" models just had stock engines particulalry the supercharged versions that boosted power to those not common in those days but perfect for modifiers that want a complianced shell to build a monster today!

the EA Sprint was a ford body kit, two tone paint and a sprint sticker - no other mods that I know of.
