The CarAdvice team, like everyone has been truly appalled at the loss of life and the devastation caused by the recent bushfires in Victoria.
All the more so because our main editorial office is based in Melbourne and we know the affected areas intimately. In the past, the twisting country roads and the pristine bushland of the region affected has starred in many a photograph that has graced our website. Around a week or so before the fires swept through we were in this beautiful area on a road test, enjoying the roads and marvelling at the majestic forests, now all a blacked mess that will take a long time to recover. As part of that recovery we are seeking to do our small bit and have sorted through the office shelves to come up with several items of memorabilia that we believe provide an opportunity to raise funds for the bushfire appeal being run by the Red Cross. CarAdvice.com.au would like to support the Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 by running three auctions in an attempt to raise money for the appeal. The first of the three auctions includes a signed FPV jacket, valued at $189.00. If the auction winner is from Victoria, in addition to the FPV jacket, we'll collect them from home in an FPV vehicle and take them out to lunch with the winners of the other two auctions and the Melbourne CarAdvice team. The second auction includes a HRT jacket signed by Garth Tander and Will Davison. If the auction winner is from Victoria, in addition to the HRT jacket, we'll collect them from home in an HSV vehicle and take them out to lunch with the winners of the other two auctions and the Melbourne CarAdvice team. The final auction includes a bucket load of memorabilia and merchandise we have collected from previous car launches. The list includes plenty of merchandise from Volkswagen, a couple of books from Land Rover, two Lexus posters, a one off signed Ari Vatanen book and some merchandise from Skoda. Check out the following page for the full details and links to all three auctions. http://www.caradvice.com.au/23271/ca...th-3-auctions/ Thanks again for your support, without the loyal and caring Australian public, the bushfire victims would be at even more of a loss.
